Charles Rucker Ashmore
Charles Rucker Ashmore, of Dickinson, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born on May 22, 1943, at Camp Rucker, Alabama, to Charles and Mary Lynn Ashmore.
Rucker was a very special person. His love for his family and friends was unconditional. He eased the burden of many disabled individuals and their families.
Rucker is survived by his second wife, Elizabeth Ashmore; son, Robert Todd Ashmore; daughter Amy Cozby and husband Trey; daughter Carol Ashmore; stepdaughter Amanda McElwee and husband Andy; stepson Ben Long and wife Kari; grandchildren, Courtney Cox and husband Jake; Calley Cozby; Clay Cozby and wife Sydney; Cacey Hicks and husband Michael; Robby McElwee; Robert Long; Lisa McElwee; Hollis Long; and Mary McElwee; great grandchildren Alba Cox and Chesney Hicks; brothers Mickey Ashmore; David Ashmore; and Steve Ashmore and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Rucker is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Lynn Ashmore; first wife, Sandra Ashmore; first born son, Charles Russell “Rusty” Ashmore; Sister Judith Ashmore; and Brother, Timothy Ashmore.
