Carmen Capps
Carmen was born in Houston, Texas on March 11, 1964. She attended Grammar School in the Clear Lake area. Finished High school at Valley Christian in Cerritos, Ca. Shortly after that she enlisted in The U. S. Marine Corps. After her Military service she receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Long Beach State University at Long Beach Ca. and through High Scholastic Achievement was elected to the President’ Honor list. She then received an advanced degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University, Los Angeles where she was regularly inducted into the PSI CHI Chapter of the Nation Honor Society in Psychology.
Upon graduating from Pepperdine she accepted a job with the Los Angeles Child Protective Services. After working there several years she came back to League City to manage her parents Businesses. She was an active member of the League City American Legion Post 554. She, like many of the other Legionaries sponsored drives to obtain money for the American Veterans. She served in several Post positions and received a Plaque for her generosity from Post 554. She was awarded a Plaque as a Guardian Angel by the League City of Police Offers Association for her generous support.
She is survived by her son Steven L. Udo, brother Kris Shewmake and her parents Jack E. and Jessie Capps.

I don’t know if you will see this – so many years later – but, I loved Carmen. We met at CSULB and years later she bought a Harley from me. She was a force to be reckoned with. This news makes me sad.
Carmen was a dear friend of mine too. I met her when I was 11yrs old. She was an American Original. Great friend, huge heart and we always laughed. I think about her a lot and miss her so, so much. RIP CARMEN CAPPS ❤️❤️
