Bruce Gardner Rook
Bruce Gardner Rook, age 97, passed from this life on Thursday, September 14, 2023. He was born on February 20, 1926 in Ferndale, Michigan to parents, Herman Rook and Mary (Grice) Rook.
Bruce had a career and retired as an engineer with Union Carbide.
On graduation from high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Upon his return, he enrolled at Michigan State, where he graduated with honors.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers and 1 sister and their spouses. Also, he was preceded by his wife, Barbara Rook and son-in-law, Martin Starnes.
He is survived by his daughters, Wendy Starnes and Cindy Anderson and husband, Ray; son, Kevin Rook; grandchildren, Joey Tucker and wife, Dana, Michael Tucker, Katie Garfield and husband, Taylor and great-grandchildren, Devin, Alyssa, Alexis, Alex, Alayna, A. J., and Noah, sister in law Margaret Wright, nieces and nephews.
In his honor a Memorial Service with be at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (Dickinson) on September 30th at 10:00am. Memorials maybe sent to MS Society, American Cancer Society or Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

We are so sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is such a hard thing to go through.
Bruce was a neighbor in Dickinson for many years. He was an outstanding person who was always helping others. He was a kind and gentle person. I always remember seeing him walking or riding his bicycle. He taught me the beauty of walking was you saw the world much better than if you were driving by.
He will be greatly missed.
