Brent Halcumb
On April 7, 2016 at 7:43PM, Brent Halcumb passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Brent was born on May 1, 1956 in Galveston, Texas to Calvin and Jerri Halcumb whom preceded him in death. He leaves cherished memories with his devoted and loving wife of 36 years, Tammie Halcumb; three children, Kristen Frost (Tyson), Stacy Halcumb (Brandon Aldridge) and Brent Halcumb II (Shannon); seven loving grandchildren, Reichel, Kailee, Rendon, Reggie, Kya, Jacob and Savanna; one brother, Brad Halcumb (Naomi) and a sister, Calva Sue Garza. Plus many, nieces and nephews, friends and other extended family. Brent was an all-star baseball player in his youth and later an avid golfer and fisherman. He also enjoyed a good game of pool. Brent worked for many years on the Galveston Railroad. Later, he was a deck hand and then captain of private fishing charter yachts. Then in his early fifties, he worked as a long haul trucker traveling across 48 states. He was a very loving, kind gentleman, a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend to all. He will be sorely missed. We will forever cherish the memories and times we had together. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with a Memorial Service starting at 7:00pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque (401 Texas Avenue, La Marque, Texas), with Pastor John Elliot officiating. The Family would like to thank Dr. Fan Li and the staff of Mainland Medical ICU for their compassionate care and concern during this most difficult time.
