Blanca Cruz Moya
Blanca Cruz Moya, a clinical research associate of pharmaceutical clinical trials and resident of Dickinson, TX, (formerly of Tipton, IN) went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2020, at the age of 45, after a long and hard-fought battle with the COVID-19 virus.
Cruz was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 2, 1974 to parents Juan Lorenzo Moya and Diana Gonzalez Moya. She was an avid scholar and loved education. She carried several degrees. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Master’s in International Relations, and was just credits shy of a Master’s in Sociology. She also received a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science, specializing in the Geriatric Field, from the University of Houston – Clear Lake, and an Associate’s of Arts degree from College of the Mainland. Most recently her education gained her a position working as a CRA for PPD Development.
She was preceded in death by her maternal-grandfather, Alvaro Gonzalez Sr. and paternal-grandfather, Guadalupe Moya.
Cruz is survived by her parents; her sister, Samantha Solis and husband Thomas; her paternal-grandmother, Juanita Moya and maternal-grandmother, Maria Gonzalez; her beloved niece and nephews, Abigail Solis, Caleb Solis, and Baron Solis; and numerous extended family including aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cruz also leaves behind an extensive list of friends from all over. Her career in Pharmaceutical Research allowed her to have several positions across the US and to travel all over the world. She loved doing new things, traveling and taking new adventures. Some of her travels took her scuba diving and swimming with the sharks, by the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia; she was baptized in the Jordan River in Israel; ate guinea pig, a delicacy in Peru; traveled to Scotland, Czech Republic, Ireland, South Africa, Senegal, Congo, Sudan, Greece, Venezuela, Netherlands, Italy, France, Turks & Caicos, Columbia and numerous other places both international and domestic, including Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Cruz had a zest for life and an infectious smile. That made her an incredible friend and person. She was selfless in the fact that she helped numerous charities and people, some that she did not even know, just because they were in need. I know many that lived vicariously through her travels and posts on social media, and I know she will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 17, 2020 starting at 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Rusty Carr officiating.

He would run in your car, when I asked him where are your going he would answer “with Cooz”. You have joined Travis in heaven and both ride in Gods chariot. Til we meet again. Love you.

It’s surreal that my shopping and traveling and whatever fun there was to be had buddy and dear friend is no longer with us! Even though we were only together 4 or 5 times a year it seemed like time never passed because we so easily picked up right where we left off every time we got together. She spoke so highly of her friends from around the country she met through travel and work. I will especially miss hearing about her adoration for Abigail, Caleb, and Baron. I will miss shopping with her for gifts for all of you and for Samantha and her mom. I know you are all heartbroken as the rest of us are that we will not get to hear that infectious laugh or see that brightening smile….or relish in her travels. Cruz will be missed tremendously! Juan, Diana, Samantha, Thomas, Abigail, Caleb, and Baron and all of the family…. you are in our thoughts and prayers!
Cruz .You are truly ,a beautiful person inside and out. I only hope to do half of the things that you got to see and do. You were a bright light and made this world a better place.. Cruz, you will always beloved by many.. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends 🙏🙏❤️
Samantha and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Your family will continue to be in my prayers
To Cruz’s family… She was a force of nature, passionate, dedicated, loving, gregarious, funny, memorable, unapologetic, and overall a friend who one keeps in one’s heart even if one does not see her all the time. And, of course, she had a sense of style to combine “flip-flops” with any outfit all year long. I will miss her occasional calls and visits to DC and our constant jokes with each other on social media. Goodbye!
Cruz was a childhood friend; a year my senior, she was someone I looked up to. She was kind, fun and independent. As an adult, catching up with Cruz via social media, I have been filled with joy and gratitude at the the life she has lived. Cruz’s commitment to social justice continues to inspire me. I am honored to have had this beautiful woman as my friend. I look forward to seeing you again, Cruz. With love to you and yours til then.
Going to miss our classmate and friend Cruz, she was an amazing person! So many memories. Thoughts and prayers for her and her family ❤️

I’m so sorry that she’s gone way too soon. She and I had hung out a few times at parties and were slowly developing a friendship. She was a woman with a lot of knowledge and also knew how to have fun. She will certainly be missed. May she rest in heaven peacefully. Praying for her family.
So sorry for your loss and she’s going to be missed.

I will always remember Cruz for being a kind, thoughtful, and loving soul. She was always a catalyst in our family for bringing everyone together for cherished memories through vacations, group gatherings full of laughter and fun, or Holiday gatherings
where she never failed to give the most thoughtful gifts to everyone in the room! I am forever grateful to have known her and she will always be with us in our hearts the rest of our lives. Thank You Cruz for all the memories and I know you will be watching over us from Heaven! Rest In Peace. ❤
I first met Cruz 7 years ago while working together on a research study. Since that time, I have cherished her friendship and hearing about her family and numerous travels. I was blessed again to work with Cruz last year and thrilled to once again work on the same team. I will forever remember our numerous and lengthy phone discussions while Cruz was on the road; from California to New York, she was always living her life at full speed ahead. Cruz had an incredible sense of humor, a great laugh and a zest for life. I will always remember her kind soul and how lovingly she spoke of her family. My sincere sympathy to all of Cruz’s family and friends. Cruz rest in peace and it was an incredible privilege to have known you and call you a friend.
To Cruz’s family and friends, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I had the blessing of working with Cruz for several years on clinical studies. She could make me laugh and smile, she was always traveling and did not like to sit still, she had a zest for life and pursued it with passion. She had wonderful stories to tell and I loved to talk with her on the phone. She will be greatly missed. Rest in peace my friend!
I had the honor of knowing and considering Cruz my friend for a few years. She embraced life to the fullest and I always left our encounters better, happier and more “full”. The legacy she leaves is to always be grateful for each day and to enjoy all the treasures this world has to offer. She will be missed but she will live on in our hearts.
I met Cruz several years ago while working together on a clinical research study and hit it off with her immediately. She had a great energy and I loved working with her. She was a true road warrior. Whenever we needed someone to cover a study visit in a pinch, she would always volunteer. I actually used her as a reference for my current job. She was so much fun, and so adventurous, and I loved talking to her. I always hung up the phone with a smile.
To her family: She spoke often of you and it was obvious how important you were to her. I hope that you feel surrounded by love as we share in your sadness.
To Cruz: I am so glad that I knew you and was able to call you ‘friend’. I am going to miss you. Rest in peace
I only heard today from a colleague that Cruz had passed away and I am in shock and my heart is broken. I was Cruz’s manager for close to 2 years at PRA. Cruz was one of the funniest, kindest people I’ve ever worked with. Cruz was a people pleaser and always gave it her all. She often spoke of her sister, her grandmother, her parents and her niece and nephews with so much love and adoration. I was a reference for her at her current employer. She was always upbeat and positive and I never heard her complain.
To her family: I’m so sorry for your loss, Cruz was one of a kind. May God help you through this horrible loss.
To Cruz: I wish I hadn’t let so much time pass since we last were in touch. I thought of you often. I know you are an angel watching over your family, you made the world a better place and you will be missed, very, very much. You had some of the funniest travel stories I have ever heard. I will never forget you! XOXO
My dear friend Cruz – I just heard a few hours ago that you had passed and i haven’t stopped crying. I didn’t even know you had this awful disease and I’m so very sorry for that. We met through work 7ish years ago and became such good friends that survived changing jobs and living in different states. You were such a glorious bright light of happiness and positivity always. You gave, gave, gave to all and had such love for your family. I loved hearing stories of your family, your niece and your nephews where you could just see the glow on your face. You loved your travel, the experiences, the people and the places. You will be missed by all who have ever met you sweet Cruz. I miss you and will forever hold you in my heart ❤️ xoxo
I am so sad and so devastated as I just learned of Cruz passing. I met Cruz working for PRA Health Sciences. We went through training together and hit it off immediately as we were both Hoosiers. We stayed in touch throughout her job changes and she was so much fun to talk to and to see her silly posts of her freshly painted toe nails. What a wonderful and sweet young woman. She will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her entire family and her many friends.
Cruz! I think about you every day. You are so missed. Prayers continued for the family. So glad to have known you for almost 5 years. Even through both of our job changes over those years, you and I remained in contact, and for that I am truly thankful.
