Betty C. Matthews, 81 y.o., went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 26, 2020 while in the care of Houston Methodist Hospital Baytown due to complications of Covid-19. She was born on August 18,1939 in Cisco, Texas to James E. Stuard and VonCille McCrary Stuard. Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband Wesley and is survived by son, James Carey Matthews of Jewett, TX and daughter, Cheryl Ann Matthews Shouse and son-in-law Richard of Seabrook, TX; brother, James (Jim) Stuard and wife Martha; grandsons, Timothy Matthews, Matthew Shouse, Zachary Shouse, Jacob Shouse and Caleb Shouse; great grandchild, Cristoffer Matthews and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She had over 30 years in the Houston banking industry which included Capital Nat’l Bank and First City Nat’l Bank. She had a passion for ceramics and a green thumb. She loved to create flower gardens, had a love for animals and supported many different organizations. Her biggest love was for her grandkids and Jesus!

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 29 at 2:00 pm at Moran Cemetery in Moran, Texas.
