Barbara Gail Ficklen
Barbara Gail Ficklen, 73, a resident of Bacliff, Texas, was born on October 1, 1950, in Aransas Pass, Texas to parents, Alvin Wesley Vickery and Jo Virginia (Alderson) Marshall, and passed away on September 26, 2024.
She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and she cherished being a homemaker to her husband, James Oscar Ficklen and her children.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents Alvin Wesley Vickery and Jo Virginia (Alderson) Marshall, daughter Virginia Louise “LuLu” Ficklen, granddaughter Megan LouAnn Ficklen, brother in laws Richard, Randy, Gene and Robert Ficklen, Marvin Wiggins and Fred Moses, sister in laws Francis Keith and Nelva Moses.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter Paula Gail and husband Mike Phillips II, son James Wesley Ficklen and wife, Carla; sisters, Myra Vickery, Jerri “Nona” Shipp and husband Johnny Shipp, and Linda “Tooter” Sander; brother, William “Bubba” Vickery and wife, Carol; sister in laws, Audrey Redwine and husband Ronnie Redwine, Linda Wiggins and Lynn Ficklen; brother in law Willie Ficklen and wife Dalene Ficklen; grandchildren, Nikki and husband Marcus, Makynzi, Tommy, Haven, Audrey, Mikey and wife Alexis and great-grandchildren, James, Virginia, Abby, Bubba, Alyssa, Marcie, Bella, Boogie, Jaxon, Omar and Vincent. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Gail loved to watch her Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys, spending time with family playing games from cards to dominoes, enjoyed going on cruises, being in a casino and bingo.
In her honor, there will be a graveside service on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas with a celebration for her birthday afterwards at the American Legion Post 554 in League City.
Serving as pallbearers are Wesley Ficklen, Mikey Phillips, III, Marcus Villarreal, Tommy Manning, Jr., Chase Dunlap, and Trent Mack.
