Barbara Ann (Allen) LeCompte
Barbara Ann (Allen) LeCompte passed from this life (while in Facebook jail for standing up for the unborn) on Thursday, January 14, 2021. She was born on January 31, 1951 in Fort Worth, TX to George and Veronica Allen.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughters, Kimberly and Anne-Marie.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 49 years, David LeCompte, Jr., her daughters, Aimee (Tony) Clements of Santa Fe, TX, Angela (Cyrus) Cochran of Edgar, WI, Bobbie (Sean) Leonard of Montgomery, TX, Brigid (Peter) McDonald of Chippewa Falls, WI and Colleen (Caleb) Cochran of Williamsport, PA and her son, Corporal David I. LeCompte (USMC Camp Pendleton, CA). She was so proud to be “Grammy” to 33 grandchildren and loved them bunches.
Barbara loved her large extended family and that her kids had many cousins with whom to play. She accepted and welcomed all of her kids’ friends as part of the family. She would always listen and give advice with wisdom and compassion. She often answered the phone with, “What’s up, Doc?”. She enjoyed having her kids with her while she homeschooled them. She was an avid gardener. She loved to laugh. She was the primary caretaker for her mother, when her mother could no longer live on her own. She loved spending time with her adult children.
Besides her family, her passion was trying to save all the unborn babies, who can’t speak for themselves, from the horrors of abortion. If she could save one life, she was overjoyed. Through her efforts, whether educating or being out on the front lines, she saved many lives.
She led a life of prayer and offered her many sufferings for others. She was a daily Communicant and taught her family, through her example, to love the Catholic Faith. Her example is shown through the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was involved in just about every committee at one point or another in her parish, but most important to her were Respect Life and A.C.T.S.
A visitation will be held from 5-7pm, Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Shrine of the True Cross, Dickinson, TX, with a rosary beginning at 7pm. A funeral Mass will be held at 10am Friday, January 22, 2021, at Shrine of the True Cross. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Dickinson, TX. All services will be livestreamed on Shrine of the True Cross Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Good Counsel Homes, a home for unwed mothers (600 Meadowlands Parkway Suite 251 Secaucus, NJ 07094) or Shrine of the True Cross.
We are so sorry about Barbara’s passing. Praying for the whole family for comfort and peace. She will continue her work for the unborn from heaven I am sure. A mass is being offered here in Livingston on Sunday the 24th. Wishing you blessings, Brenda and David Buffington
Mrs. LeCompte will be forever missed and in our prayers. She was an amazing woman who treated us “youth group kids” as her own, welcoming us all into their home. Rest In Peace. Dustin Crumby
Our prayers and a candle for Barbara and her family. She will truly be missed but remembered for all her work and love for the little ones. It is so fitting that her funeral is on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Even in death she still is fighting for the unborn and will continue until our country is freed from abortion. Thank you Barbara for your strong faith and wonderful example for all of us to follow
Always God bless
Vicky Whynott
An angel has joined the saints in heaven with our Blessed Mother welcoming her with open arms. God bless YOU! What a great friend! What a true blessing!
My prayers continue for your family and for the lives and safety of the preborn. I loved Barbara for so many reasons.
Barbara I will always remember you for your leadership in prayer every second Tuesday of the month and prayers before Planned Parenthood in downtown Houston!
I know you are with the souls of the little Angels we prayed for.

Thoughts and prayers for the entire family, Barbara was a great person, was an honor to know her
Our hearts and prayers are with you precious friends. We know that Barbara is in Heaven and has left us to continue her work. May she intercede for us as we pray for the pre-born babies.
My friend for over 30 years! It’s hard to say goodbye, but I know she was a good Catholic wife, mother and friend and even tho we hope hope she is in Heaven with her 2 baby daughters, we still pray for her soul. A beautiful person inside and out and happy to say we shared grandchildren. Barbara, I will miss you always, but you will always be in my prayers and every time I see our grandchildren, they will remind me of all the fun, good times we shared and your wonderful laugh!
I started the 9 Day Novena for Life, and found myself asking for the intercession of your mother. I’m sure she is fervently praying as much now as she did while here on earth for those pour souls who endured so much torture.
I’m sure the mourning of your loss is the emptiness you feel, but I can tell the faith your mother and father instilled in you all is giving you great peace and comfort in knowing, surely she is in the arms of God.
May her soul and the souls of the unborn (I can see her holding them all), through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace.
David, I offer my sincere condolences to you and your beautiful family. Barbara was an amazing, faith filled woman. Her life, her example, her faith has touched so many and the ripple effect will produce good fruit for generations to come. Be of strong faith.

May her example of loving others and sharing her faith continue for many generations, not only in her family but those whose lives she has touched. We will miss you Barbara. May you be in heaven with the angels!
What a beautiful lady she must have been as this is a beautiful bio. May we all live to have such kind words spoken of us. May she rest in eternal peace and may God grant mercy upon her soul.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I was often on the receiving end of Mrs. LeCompte’s advice when I was a teenager. I will never forget everything she did to help me and our family through tough times. I’m so sorry for your loss.
What an amazing woman! I bet thousands of baby angels met her when she arrived at the pearly gates of Heaven! True champion for the unborn, she will be greatly missed!

What an incredibly godly woman. She truly was a mother to all. She greeted anyone who came into her home with open arms and treated me like she had know me forever. There were many moving and fun times spent with the youth group. She help play a role in shaping my faith journey. May God provide comfort and peace to all her family.
Although I never had the privlege of meeting Barbara, I knew her daughter, Bobbi, married to my nephew, Sean. What an incredible human being, & so funny & light hearted on FB. We both rooted ffor the New Orleans Saints…….She was one of the most well rounded & interesting people I wish I had met. Her Catholic faith was unmessurable. GOD BLESS YOU BARBARA.
This was a beautifully written, truthful description of Barbara’s life. I understand it was a joint effort of sorts but I believe, Angela, that you were the main author 😉Whoever wrote it did a wonderful job of reminding all of us of why we loved your mom so much!
It was great to see all of her children and grandchildren at the Rosary last night even though we were not able to visit nearly long enough. I miss all of you so much! It was very touching to see the families go forward to say a decade of the Rosary and to learn from Aimee how the “order” was decided. It was also special to learn from Bobbie the symbolism of each flower in the beautiful flower spray. And David, it was so inspiring to hear you speak about the “timing” in regards to Kimberly and the Roe v Wade anniversary. To me that was a “well done” affirmation from Heaven for all of your faithful prolife efforts. It was a very beautiful farewell to a wonderful wife and mother and Grammy. The release of the doves at the graveside brought tears to my eyes. I have to admit I had not shed any tears before that moment as my joy for Barbara knew no bounds!
I will never forget Barbara and what she brought to my life and to so many others! I will keep her and all of you in my heart and in my prayers 🙏💕
David and family. So sorry to hear about Barbara. I didn’t know her very well, but do know she was very well thought of as a wife, mother, grandmother and devout Catholic. My prayers are with her and for your family.
So heartbroken to hear of Barbara’s untimely passing. She and David are such pillars of our prolife movement, being perfect examples of how to stand up for the voiceless innocents. I cannot imagine a world without her in it, but I know that she is continuing her outstanding work in Heaven.
Barbara LeCompte, pray for us.
