Art was born August 15, 1936, and raised in Galveston, Texas to Arthur Rudolph Horridge and Rose Josephine Buffano. He moved to Corpus Christi, Texas and joined the United States Marine Corps in May of 1954 where he received Sergeant Status, the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal for his service in the military. In 1960, he married his loving, beautiful wife of 62 years and they had two sons and a daughter.
They settled in the Clear Lake area where Art was a multiple award winning Car Salesman around the Houston area for the majority of his life. He loved talking with and helping out hundreds of clients over the years. He supported numerous non-profit organizations across the greater Houston area.
He had a passion for cars, hot rods, bowling, hunting, fishing, boating, and spending time with his family. He was known for being a fabulous story and joke teller, and having a great time in everything he did and was always the “life of the party”.
He also loved Houston sports teams to his core, in particular, the Houston Oilers. You could find Art on the sideline every Sunday, as the Houston Oilers Roughneck, cheering on his favorite team for 24 years.
Art is survived by family members, including his wife Sue Horridge, son Alan Horridge, daughter-in-law Amy Horridge, and granddaughter Ashley Horridge of League City, Texas and his daughter Kim Lendman, son-in-law Rick Lendman, granddaughter Callie Lendman and grandson Hunter Lendman of Stevensville, Montana.
Art was preceded in death by his son Mark Steven Horridge who passed in 2019. Art blessed the lives of everyone around him, and was deeply loved by all of his friends, family and fans and will forever be missed.
I will never forget you Art Horridge. To the list of son, father, Marine, etc I would add wonderful friend. Such a caring friendship from you & Sue, actually The whole family seems like family to me.
So many memories of being there for me, taking me in and taking me to concerts, dinner, whatever we chose. I even went fishing with you out in the deep water in Galveston.
You are unique to say the least and my heart aches with your family. Enjoyed your visits on your returns to Texas.
Rest In Peace my friend . Your family will look after Sue and each other. They love you so.

That was so sweet, thank you Sheila!
Art was my milkman when I was very young. I would sit on my front porch waiting for him to show up. I would always tell him that my Mom said he could leave me chocolate milk today. He would smile that great big smile of his and say “oh she did, did she?” The answer was always Yes she did. I send my condolences to the Family and Friends of Mr. Art Horridge. See ya on the other side. Godspeed!!

Oh my………….I just learned of “Froggy’s ” passing. We were close friends since before 1954, when we attended Roy Miller High School together. I saw him off when he enlisted in the Marine Corps that year. “Froggy” was his nickname at that time. He once told me I was the only one who corresponded with him, during his Boot Camp days. And after he was shipped off to Japan. A year and half later, I enlisted in the Navy, and we lost contact with each other til sometime in the 70s….I think,
when we connected again in Houston.
Many years of being a small part of life together. He was —- IS —- special.
