Ann Bess
Ann Bess, age 74, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, September 10, 2022, after having a catastrophic stroke while in the hospital. Ann was born on May 29, 1948, in Panama City, Panama to Edward and Elizabeth Kersting. Ann is survived by her sisters Kay Elsasser and Mary Kerber, her son Gregory Bess and his daughters Taylor and Logan Bess; her daughter Deborah Bess Urbaitis and her children Levi, Samuel, and Logan Urbaitis. She is also survived by a wonderful extended family, both blood and grafted-in, including: Alison Sparks Bess; Megan Bess King and her family; Audrey Pipkin; brothers- and sisters-in-law Greg and Cathy Bess, Lloyd and Betty Bess, and Bob and Sally Bess; nieces and nephews Mike Bess and Christie Bess Mason, Jennifer Kerber and Robert Kerber, Donna Miller Haake, Laura Miller Yates, and Doug Miller, Craig Kersting, Clayton Kersting, Kimberly Kersting Nowell, and Coleman Nelson, Erica Bess Duncan and Barbara Bess Randolph, Jennifer Bess Chapot, Stephanie Bess, and Jessica Bess Maraquin, and Daniel Elsasser, and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Christopher Kersting and his wife Margaret Reed Kersting.
Ann had a love for life and could often be found with a smile on her face making others laugh. Ann had a passionate love affair with Oreo cookies, white wine, sneaking the dogs some people food, live music, musicals, the water, and celebrating with friends. She was a wonderful and caring sister, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. Ann was a realtor for many years in the Clear Lake area and ended her career working in the title industry. Her many friends and family will always treasure her good cheer and her infectious laugh that could light up a room.
Her family sends their sincere gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Methodist Clear Lake who took such loving care of her during her hospital stay.
In lieu of a funeral service and in accordance with Ann’s wishes, her children will host a celebration of her life on Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 at Greg’s home, 4111 Lake Falls Court, Houston, Texas 77059. This casual drop-in celebration will be held both in and outdoors. Ann’s friends are invited to come and share joyful memories.
