Amelia Louise Godbold Griffith passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 in Silsbee, Texas at the age of 80 years.

Amelia was born on March 26, 1937 in McComb, Mississippi to Earl Lenburst Godbold and Cora Ellen Grandberry.

Amelia was a court reporter who owned her own business with several employees.  She traveled the world taking depositions for attorneys.  She retired in September 1996.

Amelia enjoyed traveling, spending time on their sailboat and even enjoyed Gulf crossings.  Amelia enjoyed her church activities and had a love for God.  Amelia enjoyed nature and watching the purple martins in their backyard.  She enjoyed her flowers and plants and family time.  Amelia enjoyed the holidays and get togethers with friends.

Amelia is preceded in death by Earl & Cora Godbold, parents,  Pastor Earl Godbold, brother, and Cora Phelps, sister.

She is survived by David L. Griffith, husband, Kevin Boyd, son and wife Diane Boyd, Kristi Boyd, daughter, Trent Tucker, step son, Anita Barber, step daughter, and Jana Watt, step daughter.  Grandchildren are Tucker Taryn, Tristian Boyd, Everrett Baranosky, Colton Capuano, Madison Barber, Jackson Barber, Ella and Ana Watt, and great granddaughter, Tillie Belle Boyd.

Crowder Funeral Home is located at 1645 East Main Street, League City, Texas 77573.  Service will be on Thursday, November 9, 2017, Visitation from 4-6pm, Service begins at 6pm.  Burial will follow on November 13, 2017 at the Houston National Cemetery, family only.
