Amelia Chavarria Quiroga
Amelia Chavarria Quiroga, 89, passed away on February 11, 2025. She was a resident of Houston, TX since 1958. Amelia was born July 11, 1935 to Pablo Chavarria and Eleuthera Villarreal Chavarria in Cienega de Flores NL, Mexico. Amelia married her loving husband, Cenovio, on January 6, 1957 and enjoyed 68 years together. She was a caring, loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Amelia was a homemaker most of her life and was dedicated to creating a loving and supportive home environment for her family. She took pride in her role as a homemaker and made sure her home was warm and welcoming to all. Her dedication to taking care of her family was truly admirable. She enjoyed cooking meals alongside her husband for everyone to enjoy. Amelia also took great pride in her plants, including her beautiful roses. She would always have fresh cut roses displayed in her kitchen. Amelia looked forward to her trips to Mexico with her husband to visit family. She also loved going to Louisiana to play the slot machines.
Amelia is preceded in death by her husband, Cenovio Quiroga; her parents Pablo and Eleuthera Chavarria; brothers Carlos Chavarria, Roberto Chavarria, sisters Hortencia Garcia; Lilia Chavarria Villarreal; and Maria Isaura Gutierrez.
She is survived by her son Ricardo Quiroga and wife Patricia, daughters; Rosa Ribbe and husband Mark; Ana Sklark and husband Edward. She has 7 grandchildren, Erik Ontiveros and wife Stephanie, Amanda Arispe, Ashley Garza, Richard Quiroga, Charles Ribbe and wife Bora, Christina Quiroga, Danielle Clifton and husband Jose; 9 great- grandchildren; Joseph Garza, Alysia Garza, Arissa Rexach, Tre Garza, Adalyn Arispe, Aubree Arispe, Adon Garza, Autumn Ontiveros, Camila Clifton, and 2 great-great- grandchildren; Aaliyah Garza and Adrianna Garza.
Amelia will be dearly missed by her family and friends. We take comfort in knowing she is now in heaven with her beloved husband and in the arms of God.
There will be a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday February 21, 2025 at Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 E. Broadway St. Pearland, TX 77581. A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. with Deacon John Carillo officiating.
