Amber Elisabeth Aguirre Galvan

 

Amber Elisabeth Aguirre Galvan, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, teacher and friend went to eternal rest Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Amber was born on December 15, 1986, in Corpus  Christi, Texas, during the halftime of a Monday night football game of Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions.  She was raised in Sinton and was a member of the Sinton Little League Pirates, Girl Scout Troop 852,  Smith Middle School Lady Marauders where she was awarded the Fighting Heart Award, Sinton Lady  Pirate track team, Pirate Marching Band, and Pirate cheerleader. She was a graduate of Texas State  University (’10) where she majored in Early Childhood Education and Sociology. She was a former clock operator for South Texas Football Officials Association. She was a Catholic and a member of St.  Bernadette Catholic Church. 

She began her teaching career in Lockhart, Texas and on to KIPP Explore Academy in Houston, Texas.  She wore many hats at KIPP; she was a Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 teacher, an ESL teacher, a reading interventionist, a regional curriculum writer for reading and writing, Dean of kindergarten and was recently recognized and awarded distinguished teacher.  

Amber was a sports fanatic and loved to trash talk her brothers and the teams they followed. She loved her Houston Texans, Rockets, and Astros. She enjoyed playing golf in her free time. 

Amber’s most cherished role was being a wife and mother. She was adored by her husband and boys and had dedicated her life to planning every part of their daily lives.  

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her devoted husband Alfred Galvan and their three sons  Abram Antonio, Adriel Gerard, and Axel Augustine; her parents Gracie and Pete Aguirre of Sinton,  Texas, brothers Frank Marroquin (Miranda)of Katy, Texas, Aaron Aguirre of Sinton, Texas and Aidan  Aguirre of Austin, Texas, her mother-in-law Sandra Bermea and aunt-in-law Silvia Garcia, brother-in-law  Manuel Bermea (Kelly) and a multitude of relatives, friends, and students. Amber touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed.  

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 31, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a holy rosary recited at  5:30 p.m., at Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday, June 01, 2021 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houston followed by burial at South Park Cemetery in Pearland.

    We all are broken , hurt and mad this happened to you . Why you ? it isn’t fair !!! You were the light at work . You made work fun . You were the real life superwoman . I’m sorry I never did more for you , I’m sorry I never told you how much I appreciate you, Amber. It sucks writing this to you and you’re not here to read it ! I’m being selfish bc I wanted you to continue fighting . Just as much as your beautiful family need you . I needed you , we all need you back working with us at kipp . Who else is going to tell me “Mayra are you logging in our meetings “ We had more astros game to watch . We had way to many birthdays to celebrate. I’m not ready to say goodbye to you .
