Amanda K. Harkness
Amanda K. Harkness, 44, a resident of Alvin, TX, passed away suddenly on July 30, 2021 in Rosenberg, TX. Amanda was born in Houston, TX on March 25, 1977. She was a nurse for 16 years at The Women’s Hospital of Texas, where she won the DAISY Award in 2015. There was no one more deserving of this honor than her. This award is given to nurses who display extraordinary compassion, courage, and integrity in every situation they face. There are no better words that can be used to describe Amanda. To quote a patient who nominated her for this award, “She had a great spirit. She talked to me and lifted me up when I felt like I wanted to give up. She has truly convinced me that there are angels here on Earth.”
Amanda leaves behind her husband Donald Lee Harkness, III; daughters: Destiny Lynn Harkness, husband Garrett Deel, and Delaney Leigh Harkness; son, Dustin Lee Harkness; grandchild, Carson Davis Deel; parents, Virginia and James “Larry” Robertson; sister, Tina Lleverino, husband Rudy.
She was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and best friend, all rolled into one beautiful soul. She was loved hard by all who knew her and loved those closest to her even harder. Her family meant the world to her. There was nowhere else in the world she would rather be than on the couch cuddled up with her grandson, Carson. She loved being his MawMaw.
Amanda will be remembered for being a kind, soft-hearted woman who loved love. She was patient, smart, and always capable of taking the positive out of any situation. Her smile could light up any room she was in and her laugh was infectious. We were all blessed to have known her and to have had her in our lives. She is, and always will be, sorely missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.
Her visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m on Saturday, August 7, 2021, with a service to start at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland. Followed by a burial at Confederate Cemetery in Alvin.

I’m still in shock and will always love and miss Amanda. Gonna miss the Aunt JoJo as she called me, the beautiful smile and gentle caring woman she was. She loved family and friends as they loved her.
I send thoughts and prayers for Amanda’s family. She was an amazing nurse and instrumental in so many co-workers lives. Especially dealing with a national pandemic, she was the point of contact for all the employees and COVID issues. I pray for strength and peace for You in the days ahead. She was a fighter and I know her influence on her family will fight through this difficult time. God bless You and keep you in perfect peace.
