Allene Wise, age 94, passed from this life on Thursday, September 14, 2023. She was born in Palestine, Texas on Thanksgiving Day, November 29, 1928, to parents Charles Allen Newman and Myrtie Mae (Batten) Newman.

Allene made a career as a teacher, teaching for 27 years at Hitchcock and Santa Fe schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hitchcock, Texas. In 1952, she met and married the love of her life, J.C. Wise, Jr., together they had two beautiful daughters.

Allene is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Wise, Jr.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, Beth Anne Wise Courson and her sons, Joshua and Travis, Keli Lynn Wise Swann and husband, Kirk, their children Phoebe, Jambres, and George, his wife Addie and their son Nathan.

A graveside service is planned for Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 11:00am at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
