Allan “Rusty” McConnaughey

MCCONNAUGHEY RUSTYAllan “Rusty” McConnaughey, 68, passed away in Houston, TX on Monday, March 14, 2016.  He was born June 3, 1947 in Borger, Texas to James Ross and Thelma Mozelle McConnaughey.  He was a resident of Deer Park for 15 years and formerly from Houston and La Marque. Rusty worked for Shell Oil in Pasadena for 33 years.  He is preceded in death by his father James McConnaughey.  Rusty is survived by mother Mozelle McConnaughey of La Marque; his wife of 15 years, Kathy McConnaughey of Houston; daughter Kasey McConnaughey of Shreveport, La; son Matt McConnaughey of Shreveport, La; brother Robert D. McConnaughey of Nevada and grandson Camden Ray McConnaughey. A visitation will be on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11:00am – 1:00pm with the Funeral service at 1:00pm with Pastor Bobby Hocking officiating at the Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.  Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas. Pallbearers will be Ayden Mize, Matt McConnaughey, David Bohreer, Butch Harpster, Bruce Robbie and Jim Jamal Abu-Muwais.

    My condolences to all for Rusty’s passing. He was my “across-the-street” neighbor from 5th grade on. He was always a sweet, easy-going, kind guy. I know he will be missed by his loved ones.

    I am so sorry I am unable to attend his funeral services but will hold all of you in my prayers.
