He also loved to hunt, read books on military history and work crossword puzzles. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Dickinson, Texas, where he taught an adult Sunday School class and was a monthly lay reader for many years. He was a great man, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
The Obituary is a beautiful tribute to Uncle Albert. Such a wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Hugs, Sherry and Woody Potter
This is an excellent tribute to a truly great man. After Granddaddy – A.P. Caldwell, Sr – Uncle Albert readily assumed the role of patriarch of the Caldwell family with love for all of his extended family. Personally, he was a mentor to me and someone that I had the utmost respect and admiration. He will always be remembered for the exemplary way he lived his life. God’s peace be with all of his immediate family – especially Clevie, Stan, Kevin, Mary Jean and Caroline. Albert and Kim Seals
Al was one of my first supervisors at the Skelly Oil Company Refinery in El Dorado, Kansas. I admired both his leadership and his friendship over many years. He was one of the “Skelly Gang” when we had reunions. Few are left. He will truly be missed. We pray for Jean and the family.

For over a Decade and a half, my Family, the Soehlke’s, were Good Friends with Al and Jean Caldwell in El Dorado, Kansas. Often in the mid 1960’s on through much of the 1970’s, Jean and Al would hold “Bridge Club” and other Social Gatherings with my parents Dick and Mary Soehlke. Their Children, Stan, Kevin and Mary Jean would play with the Soehlke Children Kathy and Tom. Later on my younger Sister Jean Marie and Caroline joined in. We all knew the “Skelly Gang” from the Refinery Management Team. We All grew up in that small Midwestern community long ago. We know Al will be missed by Everyone. Our Prayers go out to Jean and the Family.
Thank you Tom! I have so many happy memories of those years, being at your home. I’m so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing last fall. He too was a great friend to my dad. Love to all of you.

Greetings Caroline,
It is always difficult to lose a loved one. The cycle of life can be hard . We know our Fathers had Great Careers and Loving Families. We all Prospered quite well in El Dorado. We would like to offer a donation to his Church or preferred Charity. May Life’s Blessings continue for All the Caldwell Family.
My heart goes out to the family at this sad time.
Caldwell’s were neighbors in ElDorado. Al was especially helpful when my husband George was killed in the crash of our airplane. My family was the recipient of many kindnesses from Jean and Al. I was Stan’s Senior high English teacher. My prayers for Jean and the family. The world is a better place because Al Caldwell was in it.
My most sincere condolences to the entire Caldwell family. Albert was Don’s favorite uncle and always knew he could count on him. Wishing you all peace in the days ahead. Jennifer Grammer

My heart goes out to the Caldwell family whom I have known from early childhood. There could have not been a finer family or dearer friends. And Clevie, I knew from school. I know he will be missed sorely.by all who knew him. He was always such a kind and gentle man. My prayers go out to you in this most trying of times.
My sympathy to the Caldwell family…Uncle Albert was a caring and thoughtful man. He had that twinkle in his eye and quiet way of letting you know how he felt…just like his father did. I remember many times at the Caldwell family reunion how he always had jars of his salsa to share with everyone…and those amazing tomatoes! Wonderful memories indeed of laughter, good natured teasing and just spending time together listening and learning about the Caldwell family.
His legacy will always live on through his family whom he loved so deeply.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
