Rhymond Allen Townsend
Rhymond Allen Townsend was born in San Antonio, TX November 12, 1927 and Passed away on March 19, 2016 in Pearland, TX.
Mr. Townsend served our country in the U.S Navy during WWII.
During his career at Shell Chemical he lived in Houston, TX, for 39 years as foremen, upon retirement he became a member of Shell retirees and moved to Bayou Vista. For the last 10 years, he resided in Pearland, TX where he attended First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Townsend is preceded in death by his son, Michael Allen Townsend; parents, Edward and Genevieve Townsend; sister, Mary L. Campbell; brothers: Edward D. Townsend and Charles D. Townsend.
Mr. Townsend leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Barbara Jean Townsend; daughters: Linda Veal and Julie Ray and husband Charles; son, Stephen Townsend; brother, Don Townsend; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 5pm-8pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland. A funeral service will begin Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 1pm in the chapel of Crowder Funeral Home with Rev. Marie Fuhrken to be officiating. Followed by a burial at Forest Park Lawndale.
Pall bearers will be: Steve Townsend Jr., Michael Stephens, Jacob Stephens, Daren Veal, Rex Haley and Cristien Ray.

Papa will be greatly missed. I wish I was closer to Houston to be there with family. It is a great loss to us and Papa will be missed.

My thoughts & prayers are with you always. I love you and uncle Raymond so much. Sorry time has slipped thru and past by so fast and not seeing you. We always think we have time to spend with loved ones and before you know it, years have passed. But no matter this does not change my love for you, you have always been my favorite aunt and uncle:) I have so many happy memories of uncle Rhymond and you!
