Joyce Elaine Rac, 77, a resident of Dickinson, Texas for the past eight years (formerly of Hitchcock, Texas) passed from this life on April 21, 2025. She was born on December 9, 1947 in Galveston, Texas to parents, Julius H. Rac, Sr. and Irene Ellen (Terrebonne) Rac.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy Ann Rac and brother, Julius H. “Buster” Rac, Jr. She leaves behind to treasure her memory, daughter, Diane J. Rac and her beloved dog Molly.

Joyce worked as an administrative assistant for the Corps of Engineers for 37 years until she retired.

She was a lifetime member of Peace Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and youth counselor for many years.

Joyce loved traveling with her sister and other family and friends.  She and her sister were huge George Strait fans and spent many years following George on tour and attending his Roping contest.  She had a strong, infectious laugh that would fill up any room she was in and she was affectionately known as MiMi to Diane’s friend’s children and many of the kids her sister cared for at their in-home daycare.

In her honor, there will be a visitation on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm. Interment will be at Hayes Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Craig Smith, Stephen Smith, Christopher Smith, Ryan Garza, Angel Davila and Cade Pierce.
