I am sad that my “Aunt I” is gone. She was a positive person in my life although we lived far apart and I did not get to see her very often. She and my father, her brother, were favorite siblings and I think even though there was distance that they saw the world much the same way. In the short time that I lived in Houston, Aunt I was my friend. We stayed in occasional touch after I came back East and she always answered my emails and questions. On one occasion when I wanted to research the Battisti family heritage she provided the answers to my questions about ancestral immigration through Ellis Island. I’m amazed at how much she looked like her mother as she aged. My condolences to George, Paula and Marcq.
Mrs Vargas was an amazing women , she was friends with both my parents , Tom and Veronica Connell, She was very kind and such a nice person, she was a very good customer and came to our shop all the time to have work done on her El Dorado Cadillacs. I use to give her rides home when she lived near Sharpstown High School. I always looked forward to seeing her, I figured she moved away to be closer to her kids, Mrs Vargas, you are missed!
