Ralph Clinton Morgan, Jr.

Ralph Clinton Morgan, Jr. resident of Santa Fe, Texas passed from this life, Friday, September 1, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 28, 1950, in Dallas, Texas to loving parents, Ralph, Sr., and Mary Imojean Morgan.

“Butch” had a 43-year career as an engineer with the railroad at the Texas City Terminal. His passions, besides his wife of 17 years, Jean Morgan, and family, were hunting, fishing, barbequing, music, dancing and cards.  He and Jean traveled extensively throughout the U. S. and abroad.  He was a proud volunteer at H.I.S. Ministries. Butch went skydiving in Vegas as part of his bucket list and was looking forward to retirement in Belize.

“Butch” was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories his wife, Jean Morgan; daughter, Lisa Morgan-Appleby and husband Chris Appleby; sister, Linda Martinez and husband Frank; brother, Mark Morgan and friend Amy; as well as two grandchildren, Morgan Brown and Christian Appleby.

In his honor will be a visitation Tuesday, September 5, 2017, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel in Dickinson, Texas with a funeral service Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to MD Anderson or the charity of your choice.

    Extending my heartfelt condolences. Butch was a very special guy – one of a kind and a friend to many. He will be missed.

  2. I grew up with Butch when he lived in Texas City, and was close with MARK and his parents. We live the life playing football, baseball, army, fishing, and hunting in the old rice patties. It was a true brother of mine back then.
