Milton Henry Otto Kluck
Milton Henry Otto Kluck went to be with his Lord on March 26, 2025, at the age of 99. He was born on January 26, 1926, in Otto, Texas, to Adolf and Bertha Kluck. Milton grew up on a farm near Otto, Texas. He attended Zion Lutheran School, and then went to Marlin High School. He graduated in 1944 and was drafted into the army that same year.
He served as a private first class with the 25th Infantry Division, Tropic Lightning, in World War II.
Milton attended University of Texas in Austin in 1947. He met the love of his life, Mildred Fenske, and they were married August 27, 1949. Milton graduated from UT with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in1951.
He worked for GE, RCA, American Bosch Arma and Litton which resulted in Milton and Mildred moving often to various states in the US. In 1965, Milton, Mildred, Mike and Marla moved to Houston where he worked for Pan Am and GE at NASA, then for Brown and Root. He received his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1973. It was during this time that Milton and Mildred were introduced to square and round dancing. Milton was also the family photographer for all special occasions.
After retirement, Milton and Mildred worked part time at Greater Houston Visitors Bureau for many years. This is when they joined the Spirits Square and Round Dancing Group, traveling and performing all over the US, Europe, and Australia. After Mildred’s death in 2010, Milton moved to Parsons House Assisted Living in La Porte. He lived there for 12 years.
Milton raised his family in the Lutheran Church as he had been raised.
Milton and Mildred participated in many outreach programs at Zion Lutheran before moving their membership to Gloria Dei Lutheran.
Milton loved his Lord, his church, his family, Whataburger, classical music, and Mildred’s cooking. He wanted to be remembered as a follower of Christ.
Milton is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothea Covington, and his brother, Herb Kluck. He is survived by his son, Michael Kluck and wife Jeanette, daughter, Marla Goodnight and husband Mike, grandchildren Joshua Goodnight and wife Amanda, Ariel Rowan and husband Taylor, Scott Foster and wife Tammy, and five great grandchildren, Micah, Eleanor, Rose, Hunter and Laurel.
Visitation and service will be in the chapel at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 18220 Upper Bay Road, Houston, Texas, 77058, on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025.
Visitation will be at 9:30am, followed by the service at 10:30am. A reception will follow. The graveside service will be at 2:00pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, 77038.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 18220 Upper Bay Road, Houston, Texas, 77058.
