James “Jimmy” Ray Roberts Sr.

James “Jimmy” Ray Roberts Sr., 87, of Texas City passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025 in Texas City.  He was born on May 16, 1937 in Galveston, Texas to Earon R. Roberts and Una Marie Boudreaux Roberts.

Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Texas City.  He was a member of 211 Pipefitters for many years.   He owned and operated jukebox and pinball machines throughout Galveston County for many years, he also owned City Auto Sales, Wilson’s Drive –In, Hy-Jinx Lounge and numerous other businesses. Jimmy loved to go goose and duck hunting with his faithful dogs. He played slow and fast pitch baseball for over 50 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of over 61 years, Patsy Jean Roberts.  Jimmy is survived by his three daughters: Cathy Lin Roberts, Debra Kay Roberts (Richard Jaramillo) and Tammy Roberts Crisp (Myron), two sons: James “Jim” Roberts, Jr. and Michael Erwin Roberts and his seven grandchildren: Richard, Costanza, Kory, Marissa, M’lynn, Brittany and Dalton, numerous great grandchildren, brother Dr. Edward R. Roberts and cousins: Perry Boudreaux, Jerry Boudreaux, Everett Boudreaux, Cory Boudreaux and Stephanie Boudreaux Jolley.

A visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 on Thursday, April 17, 2025 with the service at 1:00pm at the Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Roberts, Michael Roberts, Dalton Roberts, Kory Abbott, Myron Crisp and Lee Berrington.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Dillion Teelucksingh.

    We are sooo sorry to hear about your loss. After your dad has had time to catch up with your mom, I’m sure he’ll mosey on over to my dad’s place and they’ll laugh about old times. Please know our hearts and prayers are with you.
