Katha Nan Black was born July 13, 1934 in Athens, TX and her suffering ended at 8:20 am on Valentine’s day.
Katha Nan Black was a wonderful caring and compassionate lady. She received her nursing degree from Lilly Jolly School of Nursing in 1955. She worked for Pasadena ISD up until retirement. Katha made lifelong friends when she was in nursing school and everywhere she went.
Katha met her beloved husband Clifton Black while attending Milby High School in Houston, TX. They got married March 4, 1955. They were married for over 62 joyous years.
She gave her unconditional love to all of her friends and family and to all of the many pets that she cherished. Katha loved to spend time at the old house located at Cedar Creek Lake. She celebrated many holidays and weekends there with her family and friends. She was a fantastic cook and loved to serve her family and friends her great recipes.
She loved her 3 sons and 3 grandchildren with all of her heart. She treated all of her children’s friends as if they were family. She loved the Lord and gave us spiritual guidance throughout our lives.
Her smile was so beautiful and contagious. She will be dearly missed. Special thanks to all of her care givers and to the friends that came to see her.

Katha was a sweet heart. We loved her and will miss her. May God grant his peace to her family and friends. We see her still, sitting on that dock, wind her her hair, smiling and talking away. Bless you Katha, you loved us all. Jacky & Kim
Condolences to the Black Family
I have fond memories growing up two houses down from the Blacks-from early childhood activities through adulthood at many special family events. Mrs. Black always greeted me with a warm smile and a kind word. I always thought she gracefully exhibited a voice of reason and calm that formed the foundation of a wonderful family. She will be greatly missed. Rob & Miriam
Katha – Such a sweet lady but at the same time tough enough to lead a house full of strong men – with love and laughter. She was always so kind and welcoming to our family. We are sad that we won’t share any more patio conversations. We feel lucky to have known you, Katha. Love, Alicia, Adam, Benton & Barrett
What a great lady and wonderful family to have grown up with. Mrs. Black was kind to all and had a heart of gold. Joanna and I are so sorry we could not make the service. My heart goes out to BC, Mike, Pat, and Tim.
It was my pleasure to care for Katha the last few months of her life. She showed me so much love and grace. She taught me lessons as a wife and mother. She always smiled. Even at her worse times. Thank you Cliff and family for giving me the pleasure of caring for this beautiful angel. I miss her friendship already. God bless her family
