June Rose (McKenna) Hamilton
June Rose (McKenna) Hamilton, age 80, died peacefully in Webster, Texas on January 28, 2017 following a lengthy illness. She was born on June 14, 1936 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Joseph Eugene and Enola Mae (Reese) McKenna. June was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. On May 25, 1955 in Colorado Springs she married William Frederick Hamilton, who she met on a blind date and preceded her in death in 1998. They resided in Beaver Falls, Pa and Quinlan, Tx during their marriage. She is survived by her children: Dennie (Priscilla) Hamilton of Ft. Myers, Fl and Kenna (Rob) Kasten of League City, Tx, as well as 3 granddaughters (Jennifer, Jacquelyn and Olivia) and 2 great-grandchildren (Aiden and Elise). Prior to her retirement, she worked in the administrative offices at the Quinlan Independent School District. June was an optimistic, generous, trusting and loving person who took great pleasure in her family and numerous pets. Throughout her life, she enjoyed church activities including singing and teaching Sunday School, painting, ceramics, macramé and knitting. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, February 2, from 6-8 at Crowder Funeral Home located at 1645 East Main Street, League City, TX. She will be interred in Quinlan, Tx. The family requests you consider a donation to the American Heart Association in her honor.

Just reminiscing of my childhood days. June rose 🌹and I were pals in our grade school years in Colorado Springs. I think of her on her birthday because who cannot remember flag day and a rose go together like June rose. Just know she is a special memory of days gone by.
