George Richard Neal
George Richard Neal, 75, a resident of Bacliff, he was born in Bryan, TX June 30, 1941. He went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2017 in Houston, TX. Mr. Neal attended Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church. Mr. Neal is a retired Houston Police Officer. In 2012, Officer Neal was the recipient of the Blue Heart Award which is given to those that sustain life threatening injuries in the line of duty. He was an inspiring coach and teacher at South Houston High School, Dickinson High School and Bay Area Christian. Officer Neal was an outstanding teacher and coach that received Hall of Fame Honors from South Houston High School.
Officer Neal is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Justine Gallerano Neal and parents, Joseph and Irene Neal.
He is survived by his daughters: Sissy Witte, husband Jerry and Tracey Klingler, husband Jimmy; sons: Rick Neal, wife Chrissy and Jeff Neal, wife Cindy; grandchildren: Bryce R. Neal, Reed D. Neal, Griffin E. Neal, Caitlyn Witte, Parker Witte, Corbin Witte, Hunter Witte, Braden Witte, Brooke Neal, Dawson Neal, Graham Neal, Courtney L. Klingler, Cory J. Klingler and Baylee A. Klingler.
There will be a visitation Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary to begin at 7pm at Crowder Funeral Home 2422 Broadway Pearland, TX 77581. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10am in the chapel of Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Coach Neal was an amazing man and teacher. So proud to know him and be in his class of 1994. May he Rest In Peace. My condolences to the family. May you all find comfort amd peace.
Coach Neal was a great person and teacher. He inspired me to serve in the military (1996-present) when I was a student in one of his Law Enforcement classes at South Houston (class of 1995). Coach Neal made class fun for students while still teaching and inspiring. Thank You and God Bless You! My condolences go out to the family during this difficult time…

Oh wow! I’m so sorry for the family’s loss. He was my favorite teacher at SHHS. I really enjoyed his law enforcement class. Out of all my teacher’s he’s the only one that I clearly remember

Coach Neal was a great man. I was in his law enforcement class in 1989. I learned a lot in that class. He was a great influence. I am now a Detective with the Pasadena police department partly due to his influence. My prayers are with the family.

There was never another person that inspired me to be my best than coach Neal, there are too many stories to count on the lives he has impacted positively, he was an amazing coach, teacher, person and friend. What we’ve all lost is heavens gain. Godspeed, you are loved and sorely missed.

From Freeway Manor Little League and SE Houston Wildcats Football, to South Houston High School Law Enforcement, Mr. Neal was a positive influence throughout my early life. I’ll always have the fondest memories of him. To be around him was to be around greatness, and yet, humility. What a dignified man!

Had the privilege of working with and around George numerous times during his career with HPD. He always conducted himself in a professional manner that was above reproach. He was a true blessing to all with whom he came in contact. He will be missed but remembered by many.

Just found out and my heart is heavy. I was in his law enforcement class of 79 and my daughter Stacey was in his class in 99. I adored him and many of the lessons I learned from him I have carried with me through life. He was a very kind man.
