Zenon Quintela, Sr.
Zenon Quintela, Sr., of Texas City, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016, in Texas City. Zenon was born October 17, 1929, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Francisco and Fidelia Quintela. Zenon was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Society of Our Lady of Guadalupe, was a lector and altar server, member of the Queen of Peace Men’s Club, a member of the Finance Committee, and a Eucharistic Minister. He was a Past District Deputy of the State Knights of Columbus, Past Grand Knight of Council 5236 of La Marque and member of the Matthew H. Wilson Assembly 1988 4th degree. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Hortencia Flores Quintela. Zenon is survived by three sons: Zenon Quintela, Jr and wife Cynthia of Santa Fe, Steven Quintela of Texas City, and Mark Quintela of Round Rock; two grandchildren: Alisha Stanley and husband Paul, Nathalie Williams and husband Edward; two great grandchildren: Mia Liv Stanley and Brayden Jerome Williams. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque with a Rosary at 7:00pm. A Mass will be held at 10:00am Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with Father Chacko Puthumayil officiating. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Queen of Peace Catholic Church, La Marque, TX.
My prayers and thoughts are with the family. I will always remember Zenon’s laugh and his way of always making me laugh with him. Such a precious and kind man.

I will always remember Zenon. He would always tell us a joke, some were funny and some not so funny. His laugh was contagious and always had a smile on his face. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this time.
