Maria Rita Rendon was born on June 27th in 1941 on a ranch in Palo Alto outside Bishop, Texas. She was the oldest of four children. Maria was known to friends as Rita and to her family as Nana. She led a very fulfilling life and traveled to many places. Rita was a Nanny for over 20 years to the Marvel family whom she loved very much. She lived in Bishop, TX, Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Tullahoma, Tennessee, but moved to Webster, TX after retiring to be with her family. She was very loving and adored her daughters and all her grandchildren, but her great-grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Rita will be remembered as a happy and caring person. Even through illness, she stayed strong and had a smile every day until our Lord called her home Thursday December 22, 2016.  She passed peacefully at home with many family members there. She is preceded in death by her parents Antonio Gomez and Lorenza Flores, and her brother Juan Gomez. Rita is survived by her five daughters Gloria Rendon (Trino), Gracie Rendon, Lupita Rendon (Tony), Cindy Rendon Ortiz (Mando), and adopted daughter Martha Mendez (Mike); 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister Oralia Rojas of Bishop, TX, brother Jerry Gomez of Houston, TX and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
