John Clemith Quebe Jr. passed peacefully Saturday the 15th of October, 2016 at his home in Santa Fe, TX. He was born in Galveston, TX on July 12, 1947 to the union of John Clemith Quebe Sr. and Florence (Hysmith) Quebe.

He is now reunited with his parents, John & Florence Quebe, sister, Jean (Quebe) Patterson and brother-in-law, Mike Bowen Sr.; along with numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Kathy Quebe, and three children; his daughter, Laurie Sanders and husband Bubba Sanders and sons, Danny Quebe and Jimmy Quebe. His siblings Ann Bowen, Joan Spain and husband A.V. Spain, Charles Quebe and wife Pam Quebe, Charlene Kelly and husband Harold Kelly, and Dennis F. Quebe and wife Linda Quebe and his mother-in-law Phyllis Howard. John also leaves behind his grandchildren Brandi, Cody, Daniel, Dillon, Samantha, Taylor, and Emily, and his great-grandchildren Kayla, Aubrey, Gavin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Upon graduation from Ball High School, he entered the electrical industry trade as an apprentice electrician. His dedication and work ethic allowed him to quickly advance through the ranks to become President of Kenmor Electric Company, one of the largest electrical contractors in Houston. Participating in construction on some of the most recognizable projects in the Houston and Galveston areas, he also dedicated his time to serve as Senior Vice-President on the Board of Directors for the Independent Electrical Contractors before becoming their National President in 2007. In 2015, he was recognized as a Lifetime Honorary Member of the Gulf Coast Chapter of IEC, while putting into practice his belief of paying forward for the next generation of electricians to come.

He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a doting grandfather, and a faithful, loving friend. As a husband, he dedicated his life to loving Kathy with deep devotion in everything they did. As a father, he raised three children to be independent, loving, and generous. He touched an innumerable amount of lives. When people think of memories of John they may all start differently, but they all end the same – with him making you laugh and smile. He was truly the type of person that would light up a room when he walked in simply by flashing his big, contagious smile.

His passions outside of business included hunting, fishing, as well as restoring and racing cars. He was also renowned for his exceptional skills behind the BBQ pit. One of John’s favorite past times was cars – racing them, driving them, or even just watching them on television. When he wasn’t working hard or racing fast cars, John enjoyed spending time at his lake house with his childhood friend of over 50 years, Earl Ricicar, as well as countless other friends and family.

Pallbearers will be, Cody Sanders, Daniel Quebe, Dillon Quebe, Charlie Quebe, Tavish Thomas, and Earl Ricicar. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Lange, Ray Roberson and John Zendt.

His legacy will live on through his children and all of those he mentored during his personal and professional career.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to MD Anderson Hospital.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 20th, between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at James Crowder Funeral home in Dickinson, Texas. A Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 21st, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Hitchcock, Texas. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.
