Marilyn Kaye Lewis
Marilyn Kaye Lewis, 56, left us all to join the angels in Heaven on September 19, 2016, with her loving family and friends by her side.
Marilyn was born on July 9, 1960 in Sacramento, California to Jack and Betty (Johnson) Hagans. In 1970, the Hagans family moved to Texas where Marilyn went on to graduate from Clear Creek High School in 1978. She is survived by her mother Betty, brother Terry Hagans and wife Tami, her sister Sandy Cowden and husband Chris, her daughter Amanda Lewis, her son Matthew Lewis and wife, Teela; She also has two grandchildren, Heidi and Bryce, which she absolutely adored along with many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was a confident woman. She was beautiful inside and out. She was most proud of herself for her accomplishments while working for NASA since 1997.
Marilyn will forever be missed. She was a mother, a daughter, best friend, a sister, a coworker and an aunt. Now she is our Angel.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Crowder Funeral Home in Webster.
I am so truly sorry about Marilyn’s passing. She and I have been friends for many years. She was my neighbor across the parking lot when we both lives at Calder Square (many years ago). I always appreciated her straight forwardness and honesty. We have talked many of times about Bryce and Heidi and I know they were the love of her life. Marilyn, I will miss you!
I didn’t know Marilyn on a real personal level, but we shared one thing we both love immensely and that’s our grandson Bryce. I promise to take care of him and love him like a grandparent does. He will miss you terribly Mo Mo!!!!!
Amanda, I know no one can replace your mom. Y’all had such a close relationship and I know you will miss her daily. Just know that I am here for you today, tomorrow and every day.
Rest in peace Marilyn and know that Amanda and Bryce are loved immensely.
Matt and Mandy, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I did not your your mom very well but she always treated me with great respect and even though we did not spend much time with her, I felt that we were friends. I thought she was a wonderful Lady. Matt I love you and I hurt for you . You are in my heart and Prayers. Love you, Grandma
My condolences <3 She would light up telling me stories about her grandbabies. She made my days brighter by sharing.
I knew Marilyn for a brief time, but from the moment I saw her, knew she was full of spirit and loved life. She made our ISS Secretary meetings interesting with her candidness. In time I found out we both liked dogs, and would share the challenges and joys they brought to our lives.
The last time I talked with her, she talked about her family and how her relationship with Jesus and his Word was giving her strength and peace. She is greatly missed.
I’m sorry to hear of Marilyn’s passing. She was vivacious and full of life! You couldn’t help but crack up when she was around. God bless you all and God bless Marilyn!
Marilyn was a dependable and loyal member and officer of American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 2284 at NASA/JSC for over 14 years. Marilyn was a very straightforward and honest person. She will be truly missed at our monthly union meetings. RIP Marilyn.
Bridget Broussard-Guidry, President of Local 2284
I enjoyed working with Marilyn! She was a dedicated worker, yet fun to be around. She will be missed.
Marilyn was so full of life and energy. though I didn’t see her much at work due to our physical locations, we did interact a lot in supporting ISS. I loved her openess, her ‘no holding back’ then it came to daily issues we all dealt with. she made us laugh a lot! she talked often of her grandson and was happy to hear when I myself became a grandmother. she loved bragging about him and her daughter 💗
your family was your pride and joy – you will be missed for sure. but know they are very loved and have a lot of family and friends to help through this time of sorrow.
rest in peace Marilyn- I know you will tell it like is up in heaven!
love you bunches!💗
To Marilyn’s Family, I had the opportunity to meet Marilyn because we were in the same Union Local 2284, American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). In times such as this, it’s hard for us in and of ourselves to find the words to say so for this reason, I would like to share with you what scripture has to say. Matthew 5:4 tells us, “Blessed are the that mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Your mother, daughter, sister, friend; no matter what role Marilyn played and how she touched lives, it is my prayer that you will remember this one thing; she has left the land of the dying to enter into the glorious land of the living. Because your hearts are heavy, I would also like to encourage you with the words of Peter, which are these: “casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7. Be Blessed in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and know that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.
Deepest sympathies to Marilyn’s family and friends. As a NASA colleague, I always admired her strong spirit and irrepressible sense of humor. My thoughts are with you.
Marilyn was a close friend. We had many laughs together, lunches together, and a Thanksgiving with her family. We worked closely together in the Vehicle office. I shall miss her phone calls and her friendship very deeply. I send my deepest condolences to her family – Linda Bahre.
I am devastated to hear of the passing of a hard working and committed worker and a mother who wanted to Best for her children. I worked hand in hand with Ms. Lewis for years and she was full of humor and life. Rest in Peace ….
I met Marilyn a dozen years ago when I joined the ISS program. She was my secretary and became my friend. I truly appreciated all the help she gave me in my transition and time together. She was a professional and personable co-worker. I quite enjoyed working with her. I still smile at her telling me “I always wear black on Monday!” May God rest her soul!
I am deeply saddened by her loss…as I was blessed to have worked with her from time to time. She always put smiles on everyone’s faces! My deepest condolences to her family…..
Rest in peace…
My deepest sympathies to Marilyn’s family. Marilyn and I supported the Senior Secretaries Council and I also took some training with her in Houston where we had to travel over to IAH. She made those 3 days enjoyable and she was very fun to be around, lovely person, great personality and very lively. Marilyn was an awesome person and loved life, if you needed cheering up, all you needed was to be around her. May you rest in peace my friend and enjoy your eternal life in heaven where I know you will no longer be in pain but are rejoicing in his peace and love. You will truly be missed.
Amanda, the loss of a parent is one of the hardest things to endure, there is no way to prepare your mind or heart to accept the loss but you can find solice in her memory. Find peace when you speak of her to friends and family, find joy letting your son know her accomplishments, find love in her memory during your quiet times. The love she shared and her spirit is everlasting. My sincere condolences to your family for your loss.
My Sister,
Forever loved and missed
Your Little Sister
