Charles Edward Walker
League City — Charles Edward Walker, 72, died Saturday, September 10, 2016 at St.Luke’s Hospital, following a brief illness.
He is survived by Alice (Poochie) Walker, son Charles Russell Walker, spouse Renee Walker, daughter Stacey Walker Tennison, grandsons Kenneth Charles Tennison, Christopher Charles Walker and Stephen Charles Walker, granddaughter Alexandra Ashcraft, great granddaughter Ashley Bracci and his very specal extended family at the Bay Area Club. Preceded in death by parents, David and Mildred Walker, brother Ronnie Dale Walker and son Daryl Wayne Walker.
Visitation to be held at Crowder Funeral Home,League City on Tuesday September 13, 4pm-9pm. Funeral Service held at Crowder Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 14, 10:00am, followed by interment at Forest Park East Cemetery.

Our childhood was filled with so much fun, especially at the League City ballpark. So many hours every week was spent running from field to field, to the ci session stand etc. One person stands out so brightly in our memories at the ballpark; Our favorite Umpire, Charlie! If he wasn’t behind the plate with his crisp and fast “strikeee” He was always a presence there. He was the guy who always had time to chat with us crazy kids. As we got older and no longer in little league, we would still go to the ballpark just to play some ball. 99% of the time Charlie would drive up and just sit on the bleachers watching us play. Thank you Charlie for the great memories. We will cherish them forever.
Rest in Heavenly Peace Charlie. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Walker family during this sad time.

Dear Mrs. Walker,
We will certainly miss Mr. Walker’s friendly waves. As I pulled into our driveway each day, Mr. Walker always made an effort to wave to me and the boys. In fact, every single time we exited the car, we always turned to see if either you or Mr. Walker were outside. We just waited for a wave. If he was outisde, he would turn around with his great big smile and wave with joy. The boys and I are devasted to learn of his passing. May God bless you and may Mr. Walker rest in peace. I can say I’ve known Charlie for most of my life – almost 60 yrs. He was so kind to me, my sister and our mother; always free to lend a helping hand. What I remember most is how he loved my mother’s cooking; especially her Amish Chicken Corn Pie! The memories of our backyard BBQ’s will always hold a special place in my heart. He was a man of few words…but there was something peaceful and reassuring each time I came home…turning on Williams Drive to see him in the driveway or backyard with a wave to say “welcome home”. Know he was loved and will be missed and his memories will leave a warm place in our hearts forever.

I am so saddened to learn of Carlie’s passing. Like my sister, I have such fond memories of growing up on Williams Dr. Our families shared so many fun times (and some not so fun…!) that helped shape a very special bond between neighbors. Knowing Charlie was just across the street was always a comfort to me; always there when we needed him. I know you will all miss that smile as much as everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
