Sawyer Lausen

lausen picSawyer Lausen, known to many as Big Cuzz or Pop, 65 of La Marque, Texas passed away on August 28, 2016 at UTMB in Galveston, Texas.

Stephen was born in Galveston, Texas to Robert and Betty Lausen on January 27, 1951. He attended schools at Galveston ISD. He married his high school sweetheart Debra Rose on February 7, 1970. After marriage, they moved to the Mainland where he opened his auto mechanic business, Lausen’s Garage specializing in many auto body and wrecker services for which he managed for 30 years. In addition, he was an avid fisherman owning many shrimp and oyster boats. He not only loved the water but also had a passion for hunting. Furthermore, he was fascinated with anything Harley Davidson.

Stephen is preceded in death by his father Robert Lausen; wife Debra Rose; and his loving mother and father-in-law Robert and Irene Lee.

Stephen is survived by his two sons Todd and wife Renee and Clint and fiancée Michelle ; mother Betty Lausen; three brothers Bobby, Russell, and Scott (Connie); two grandsons Rylan and Reese Lausen; his devoted nephew Reese Elkins; and numerous family and friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be at 10:00am – 12:00Noon on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.

  1. So sorry for your lose I have been thinking about him the last two months and wanted to see him but kept putting it off I will try to make the service he will always be my best friend

  2. So sorry to see he is gone. I will always have very fond memories of him, he was a good guy. He helped Dave and I out a few times when no one else would.
    Sorry for your loss, remember you will always carry him with you in your hearts!
