Matthew Crowder (Matt) was born in Texas City, Texas to Ron and Carolyn Crowder. He grew up in La Marque, Texas and graduated from La Marque High School in 1993. In 1996, Matt completed and obtained an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Funeral Service from Commonwealth Institute of Mortuary Science in Houston.
Matt was introduced to the funeral service industry at a young age. At the age of 14, he began working at James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Inspired by his father Ron, and grandfather James, his employment would then later turn into a career. He previously co-managed the Crowder Funeral Home location in Webster, and as of April 2011, now proudly manages the newest location in League City.
While following in his family’s footsteps, he has always valued being active in the community. Matt involves himself in many civic organizations throughout the community including the League City Lions Club, and Hospice Care Team.
Matt is married to Tarah, and has two sons, Luke and Hudson. He enjoys coaching his son’s youth football team, the League City Cowboys, and is a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in League City. He is also are the proud owner of a Golden Retriever named Snacks, who occasionally visits him at the funeral home.
