Dominic “Bubba” Vargas
Dominic “Bubba” Vargas, 29, unexpectedly passed from this life on Monday June 13, 2016. Bubba was born March 30, 1987 in Houston, TX and was a lifelong resident of Alvin, TX. Bubba graduated from Alvin High school in 2006 and later went on to work with Wade Mock Farms for a number of years.
Bubba loved being outdoors. An avid sportsman, he never missed an opportunity to leave the crowd behind and take full advantage of all that nature had to offer him. Bubba took great care and effort to ensure that the wonders of nature that he loved and enjoyed so much would be available for generations to come. He supported the Coastal Conservation Association of Texas (CCA Texas). Even though ‘The BIG One’ would often get away, Bubba never complained, but rather enjoyed telling the stories that every fisherman loves to tell. Bubba was looking forward to the annual State of Texas Angler’s Rodeo (STAR) Tournament were he could put his skills to the test and challenge his buddies for the best.
Bubba is preceded in death by his father, Salvador Ortiz Vargas Sr. and grandfather, Domingo Rios.
He is survived by his mother, Caroline Denise Vargas; sisters: Katie Vargas (Davis Moody) and Jennifer Vargas (Dylan Dixon); brothers: Salvador Vargas(Diana), Jeremy Vargas (Bianca Garcia) and John Salinas; grandmother, Maria Rios; close aunt, Nelda Rios; nieces and nephews: Carl White, Cameron White, Zackary Vargas, Zarriah Dixon, Izaiah Vargas, Lorenzo Vargas and his dog Daisy.
A visitation will be on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 5-9 pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Pearland. Funeral service will begin Friday, June 17, 2016 at 1pm at New Hope Church in Manvel. Followed by a burial at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson.
The family will like for you to join them in a gathering at Knights of Columbus (KC Hall) in Alvin, TX from 4pm-7pm.

I had the honor of teaching Dominic his senior year at AHS. By chance, it was also my first year of teaching so I was nervous. Luckily, I had GREAT students like Dominic who were respectful, kind and helped me learn how to be a better teacher. I enjoyed talking to him about football and appreciated how nice he was to me every day. My heart and prayers go out to your family and friends in this time of loss. Rest in Paradise!
You will forever be missed Dominic!
