Concetta Floridia, 84 passed away Monday, January 5, 2016 at her home in Friendswood.  She was born Concetta Josephine Carbone on November 24, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois.  On February 20, 1950 she was united in marriage with Salvatore C. Floridia.   Concetta was a proud member of the San Giovanni Italian-American Association of Galveston for over 25 years.  She also was a devoted 35 year member of Mary Queen Catholic Church serving as a Eucharist Minister, Lector, sang in the choir and was a lifelong member of the Bay Area Serra Club which is affiliated with the church.  Concetta was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Angelina (Antonucci) Carbone;  her husband of 52 years, Salvatore and her son, George.  She will be missed by her daughter, Angelina Tropea and husband, Alfio; daughter, Emanuella Floridia; son, Louis Floridia and wife, Josephine; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews .  A visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, January 7 at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E Medical Center, Webster, 77598.  A rosary will be recited at 7 pm.  A Mass will be held at 11 am, Friday, January 8, at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood, Friendswood, 77546.  Concetta will be laid to rest with Salvatore in the Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery following the mass.
