Olene and I met teaching at San Jac in 1989, but I was blessed our friendship continued and renewed itself when I moved to League City. She and I were able to create many fond memories in those years. We shared and discussed how to solve all the problems of the world. I will forever be grateful she was a part of my life and am sorry I have been so far away this final year of her life.
Thanks…for the memories.
My condolences to family and special friends.
Dear Family and Friends of Olene’s:
Olene was an important teacher in our Texas Delta Epsilon Chi student organization for many, many years. She was a dedicated teacher and friend to everyone. Many students benefited from her love and compassion over the years. She made an important mark in the world teaching current business leaders in the South Texas area. Know that Olene made a difference and contributed in many ways to numerous student’s lives.
She traveled with some of us to China when she was ill and was a great trooper on the trip as it was her great desire to see the Wall of China. I shall always remember that trip!
She always lovingly talked about her sons and their families and she was very proud of them all.
My sincere condolences to all.

Olene was a special lady who dearly loved her students and they loved her as well. She made a tremendous impact on them during her life teaching them the values and lessons she knew would made a difference in their lives. I met Olene through Delta Epsilon Chi, Texas Chapter. It was an honor and privilege to work with her not only in Texas, but around the country.
Most sincere condolences,
Carlye Weber
I met Olene when Richland College participated in Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX) and we took the students to competitions in Texas and Nationally. Olene loved her job and her students. She was always there to support them when they did not do well and to celebrate their successes. Each year the DEX advisers had a planning retreat during that time we learned of Olene’s collection of antiques and frequently took time off during the retreat to shop for treasures. I will remember these trips, her smile and the kindness that she showed to me when I first join the group.
My thoughts and condolences go out to Olene’s family and friends.
I am sorry to just find out about her passing. I just want to say she had left a great impression on my life. I always remember her smile and her dedication. I remember visiting her office and seeing a picture of BB KING. It was just after she lost her cat. I felt so sorry. She inspired me to do better and achieve so much more. With out her I would not have been the same.
Good night, my friend.
