Scott Wade Simpson of Dickinson died at his home on November 27, 2015. He was born on Dec. 18, 1956 in Texas City. Scott was a graduate of Dickinson High School and College of the Mainland. Scott worked in the printing trade, and was employed in Houston and Austin and eventually opened his own printing business in Dickinson.
Scott was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Dickinson. He loved the Texas hill country and spent many happy summers in his youth at camps Champion and Rio Vista. He was an avid sports fan, especially professional football, and missed his Houston Oilers. He loved classic cars and motorcycles. Scott’s greatest joy was his grandchildren.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, James P. Simpson, in 2010. He is survived by his mother, Connie Griffith Simpson, who now lives in Austin. He leaves a son, Robert Andrew Simpson of Dickinson, and daughter, Jennifer Simpson Steen of Houston, and three granddaughters, Eva Ann Simpson, Leslie Simpson, and Caroline Constance Steen. He is also survived by his siblings, Simone Simpson Leavenworth of Austin, James Griffith Simpson of Dickinson, and Gregory Todd Simpson of Austin.
A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Dickinson at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 800 FM 517 East, Dickinson, Texas 77539.

    I am saddened for your loss, and my loss of a childhood neighbor and classmate. He went before his time, but by the Grace of God, he is now with Jim — starting a new chapter . . .
