James Anthony Meraz
James Anthony Meraz, 58, was born, April 2, 1957 in Houston, Texas. He passed on October 6, 2015 in Clear Lake Shores, Texas. He graduated from Sam Rayburn High School; was employed with Rohm & Haas Deer Park, TX.; and retired after 34 years as an Operator, Electrician, and I&E Planner. He was an avid sports enthusiast and always supporting all Houston teams and played on his company softball team for many seasons.
James was a fan of all types of music. He attended many concerts and saved all of this ticket stubs; accumulating an extensive collection. He enjoyed motorcycles and the open road. Taking many road trips and attending bike rallies. James is preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Carmen Meraz. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Laurie Meraz; children: son Jason and wife Leea, daughter Melissa Mielsch and husband Kevin; grandchildren: Macy Meraz, Colby Mielsch, Addison Mielsch, Madison Loudin, and Tristan Loudin; Siblings: Kathy McElyea and husband Dale, Ricky Meraz and wife Beverly, Ralph (Sonny) Meraz and wife LeAnne, Rodney Meraz, Gerry Meraz and wife Priscilla; along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and his pets; Rally and Sophie. Celebration of Life will be Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 6:00pm at the Clear Lake Shores Clubhouse, 931 Cedar, Clear Lake Shores, TX 77565. In lieu of flowers the family will be taking donations for the local Clear Lake Shores Police Department. Arrangements are under the direction of the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.

I’m so sorry to hear about James passing. He was a great friend growing up and will truly be missed. He was one of the few that could always bring a smile to your face. We had a many, many years of good times and endless laughter together. I’m saddened not knowing about this until today. It was brought to my attention by an old high school friend that James and I both knew and grew up with. I can only hope time helps in the healing process of loosing such a wonderful guy.
