Maria Marquez Escamilla
Maria Cruz Marquez Escamilla, 86, of Galveston passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015 in Galveston. She was born May 3, 1929 in Galveston to Pedro and Dolores Marquez.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Victor Escamilla, Paul Marquez, Cruz Marquez, Tony Marquez, Carman Arriaga, Raymond Marquez, Stephen Escamilla, Brian Garabaldi, Shanti Buss and Kelli Herd.
She was as famous for her authentic homemade cooking as well as for her home making abilities and boundless love of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her siblings; Lupe Fuentes, Rod Marquez, Pilar Marquez, Stephanie Hawley; and her children Olivia Cochran Escamilla, Stephanie Escamilla, Maria Escamilla, Victor Escamilla, Manuel Escamilla, Danny Escamilla, Ricardo Escamilla and Monica Polanco; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2:00pm – 3:00pm with Rosary at 3:00pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the chapel of the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque with Father Chacko Puthumayil officiating.

I was very sorry to hear about Aunt Mary’s passing. Growing up I enjoyed her visits to our family home. She had a contagious laugh and I was always happy to see her. My heartfelt condolences to your family and she is in my thoughts and prayers.
