Born Carol Jean Rush in Newport, Kentucky, September 22, 1937 to George Franklin Rush and Ruth Edith Rush (maiden name Thress). She passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Carol graduated as salutatorian from Newport High School, had a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Cincinnati in 1959, and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Kentucky. She spent 38 years in Education holding the following positions: 6th grade Teacher: at Stow Elementary – Cincinnati, Ohio, at Saylor Park – Cincinnati, Ohio, at Hark Street Elementary – Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at Malvern Elementary in Shaker Heights, Ohio, at Oxford Elementary – Oxford, Indiana, and at Pasadena Elementary Schools, Pasadena, Texas. She was also Principal of Boswell Elementary, Boswell, Indiana, and Principal of St. Thomas Moore, Houston, Texas. She retired in 2000, a life well lived. She is survived by her husband, Carl Johnson and her brother George Rush. Her younger sister Ruth Ann was previously deceased. There will be no funeral service or memorial service at her request.
