Prayers said for peace and comfort for all concerned during these difficult days
Jay, you were a class act. I loved flying with you. Your smile and humor were one of a kind. I can still hear your laugh. You were a perfect gentleman with a heart of gold.
You’ve earned your eternal wings…soar high Jay!
You we’re lived and will be missed.
May you always shine in our hearts and remind us that life is what you make of it and don’t waste one precious second! Save us a seat Jay Jay! And see you Later! Big hug until we meet again dear friend!
Jacqui and family, I am so very sorry for the loss of Jay. Though it’s so very hard now, please have comfort knowing that he rest with the angels and our Lord.
I had the pleasure and honor to work with with Jay many times at Southwest Airlines and spending time with him outside work. We enjoyed many laughs thanks to his wit and devilish pranks. We both have a love for sailing and it was great speaking with him about his experience. He’d taught me that no matter how prepared you think you are things happen and just enjoy the sail. His love for his wife and his family was undeniable and admirable. If you ever spent any time with Jay and Jacqui you could see the bond that the both shared for one another. He spoke so highly of his children and grandchildren and you could see the pride in him when he spoke of them.
Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed by many.
Jacquie, Please know how much you are loved and how much Jay will be missed. He was such a kind, funny and loving man and your life with forever be blessed by his love. I wish I had more words of comfort but you know.
You are in my thoughts and in my prayers
God Bless You
Dear Jacquie, Dustin, Linda, Amy, his beloved Matthew & and all his family,
Jay was a man of many loves. His love for son, sister, grandson’s and all his extended family. His love for wife Jacquie of 43 years was undeniable and inspirational to witness. His love of sailing, music, adventure, and who could ever forget, his love of PRANKS.
Jay was a man of many talents. His talent for taking pieces of metal and turning it into art. His talent for home improvement projects, AMAZING! But for many who had the honor of being friends with him, his talent was how kind, sweet, understanding, loyal, non judgemental,(and we know how much he heard in the back galley), funny, and easy going.
Jay will be missed by so many for so long. I hope his family knows what a positive influence he had on those that were fortunate enough to call him a FRIEND.
Rest in peace my sweet friend, Love, Shari and Ronnie Starr
Dearest Jacquie and Family,
I was so devastated when I learned of Jay’s death. Please take comfort in knowing how much he was loved and respected by everyone that knew him at Southwest Airlines.
He was my first friend when I was hired on at the HOU reservations center, 26 years ago. Such a great guy with a crazy sense of humor. He called me “Fifi” because I had a perm and he said it reminded him of a poodle! I feel so blessed to have known him.
May God give you peace during this terrible time.
and Jay, our loss is Heaven’s gain, you will be missed by so many.
Rest in peace, dear friend,
Love to all,
Kellie McDougal aka “Fifi”

My sincere condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. Through the “comfort from the scriptures we might have hope” (Romans 15:4b) and I pray that you find hope in the beautiful promise the Bible contains for the future at John 5:28, 29 and Acts 24:15.
