Robert “Bob” J. Dinklage, Jr.
Robert “Bob” J. Dinklage, Jr., 77, of La Marque passed away on April 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born June 18, 1937 in Galveston, Texas to Robert John Dinklage, Sr., and Ella.
Bob was a resident of La Marque since 1968 and was formerly from Galveston, he worked 38 years as a La Marque Police Auxiliary officer, he retired from GAF-ISP after 41 years and 1 day.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Henry King. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Wanda Dinklage of La Marque, son Robert John Dinklage, III of Katy, two daughters Susan Mc Donald of Dallas, Jana Mc Loughlin of California, sister Juanita King of Dickinson, three grandchildren Randy Slagle and Jeema, Jordan Dinklage and Claudia and Natalie Slagle, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
A Memorial visitation will be on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
Condolences to the family. I knew Bob from La Marque PD. I loved when he would come out and ride with me. He was a great guy and had a good heart. He was fun to have out with us. He was truly one of our LMPD family and he will be missed.
My Uncle Bob was one of the finest men I have ever known. He was kind, generous and loving, and most of all, brought light and joy into our family 41 years ago by loving my aunt and changing her life forever. Aunt Jo, you are dear to me and my heart is with you every moment of every day. I am here for you…I love you.
My prayers are with Bob’s family. I met Bob many years ago when I joined the La Marque Police Dept, and he was a good friend and mentor to me for many years. I will always cherish the memories of his smile and his words of encouragement

Sorry to hear about Bobby’s passing. Ben (or as you may know the name “Bennie”) has told me so many stories of their youth and the fun they had growing up on the island. We hope your good memories keep you strong during this difficult time.
I have the sweetest memories of Bob and his 41-year marriage to my precious Aunt Jo. We will truly miss this gentle giant of a man.
