Louise Marie Kolaski Burke, 3rd child of Lawrence and Frances Olenyik Kolaski, passed away in Kerrville TX, on 9 April 2015. Born 16 May 1930, Louise grew up in St. Louis, MO, and Houston, TX. She married Allen J. Burke on 22 June 1952 in Charleston, SC, where he was stationed with the US Navy. During their long marriage, the Burkes made their home in Texas: South Houston, Marble Falls, and Ingram. Louise was active in the Houston Police Officer Wives Association and the Texas Municipal Police Wives Association serving as its president from 1967-68. While living in Ingram, TX, she was a member of the Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville. Blessed with a beautiful voice, Louise sang with the Catholic Choral Society and for many years sang for weddings of family and friends. She will Fondly be remembered for her Ave Maria and The Lord’s Prayer. She is predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Frances Olenyik Kolaski, husband A.J. Burke, brothers Stanley , Leonard, and Ronnie Kolaski, niece Jan Marie Kolaski, sister-in-law Barbara Reeses Kolaski, and brother-in-law Lawrence St. Pe. Surviving her are her children Dan (Malinda) Burke and Angele (Gray) Meyer, grandson Christopher (Jean) Burke, Great-grandsons Vaughn and Peter Burke, Sister Pat (Bo) Bailess, 9 nieces, 5 grand-nieces, 6 nephews, 7 grand-nephews, and numerous cousins. Louise loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and long trips to the mountains with her husband, Allen, in their travel trailer. She especially enjoyed teaching her nieces and nephews how to fish. She loved her family deeply and was proud of all of them. Her other passion was her charities, if you want to honor that in lieu of flowers her charities are the Notre Dame Catholic Church Scholarship Fund in Kerville, Texas or Texas Children’s Hospital or St. Jude. Visitation will be on Monday the 13 April 2015 from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in League City, TX, on Tuesday 14 April 2015 at 10:00am with interment immediately following at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston.
