My love, my husband, my soul mate, my best friend, my everything! Until we meet again….
Jessica – I am so sorry to hear about Tom. He was definitely one of my favorites here at Tellepsen.
Cannot tell you how sorry I was to hear about Tom. He was definitely one of my favorites at Tellepsen! We’ll miss him!
Tom as a coworker you were respected and looked up too by me and everyone at Tellepsen. During my time of scare with cancer you were there for me even when you were going thru your own trials and tribulations with cancer. You gave me comfort and someone to speak with, not understanding everything I had to deal with. I will cherish all the communications we had…thank you for being there for me. My friend I love you and will always carry you in my heart. It gives me great comfort that you are up in heaven and showing the angels how to build…may you rest in peace…until we meet again.
Tom and I started at Tellepsen about the same time and after a couple of years of being there officed next to each other. During those early years as a young Project Manager I always admired his ability to have a discussions with subcontractors and never loose his cool. He would explain what he expected and seemed to always work through the situation. He helped me and anyone else when they needed it, and he was always your “go to” guy for help with excel. He was a friend and asset to the people he worked with and will be missed by all.
I started working at Tellepsen in 2001 and several months later became Receptionist. I saw people come and go all day long but Tom was one of those that I remember most. He was always so very friendly and compassionate. He always had a smile on his face and he would always stop and say hi. I am so sad to hear of his passing. When I heard he had been sick I had just gone through the loss of my own father to Luekiumia and I knew what a hard battle it was. I prayed for Tom then and I will continue to pray for his family during this time. There are times in our lives when we ask “why?” But it’s in those times that we learn to lean on God and only then can He help us through. Praying for each on of Tom’s family members, especially his wife Jessica.
Like it was yesterday, you took a Saturday and helped me plant that Silver Leaf Maple in the front yard of our new house (1987), our times at the Rockets and Astros games (you sitting there with your tie dipped in your beer cup) and us laughing until we couldn’t when we saw that. Dallas, Marble Falls, Denver, LA, Oklahoma City, St. Louis, St. Thomas USVI and on and on. Memories that always make me smile.
Many years passed with us doing our own thing but our friendship never changed as was evident when we shared lunch just a few short months ago. I always looked up to you and will forever cherish the times The Lord allowed us to share. I also look forward to eternity when we won’t part ways ever again my friend. My prayers for The Lords comfort are with you Jessica and Tom’s entire family.
Tom was the BEST manger of construction projects I have ever worked with and I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best in Houston. I had the great fortune to work with Tom on his first project at Tellepsen and for a number of years until his talents became too well known and he was pulled away to work on bigger, and more difficult jobs. Tom had that great mix of talents -dedication and hard work, technical expertise, never quit mentality and a manner to treating fellow workers with respect. I missed working with him, but enjoyed following his many accomplishments and seeing him from time to time. I will miss him now as will his many other friends in the construction industry. He was one of a kind!
God Speed my friend
Jessica and Jerry- This is Karen from the Crowbar. I am so sorry to hear about Tom. He was a very nice and funny man! My thoughts and prayers are with you guys.
I went to elementary school with Tommy. He passed a note in class between my boyfriend and me and the nun caught us and “interrogated” us. We were scared and shed a few tears, but we never told her a thing -:). We also graduated in the same class. Tommy was such a gentle soul, kind, courteous, and quick to smile. Blessings to you and your family. It’s been said “death is like taking off a tight shoe”. Ahhh.
And He will raise you up on eagle’s wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
Rest in peace, Tom.
I am so saddened to hear of Tommy’s passing. The entire Shifflett family sends out condolences,
Tom,
Dude you were a great friend and co worker, I will always remember our times together on some great jobs, Lakewood, TCHWest, Second Baptist and UTMB. I will forever miss you Tom Linton, until we meet again sir. Boston’s Don’t Look Back…..far out Dude!
Tom was a real pleasure to work with. I had the opportunity to work with him at Tellepsen on some large and complicated projects, and will always remember him as the consummate professional, always on top of things, in control. He was unselfish, always ready to help others when asked, and ensure that everyone shared in the triumphs. Professional, but fun, too. We will miss his quick wit and his ever present smile.
I am sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family during these difficult times.
I will miss my good friend Tom. There will never be another like you on this side of eternity. I was lucky to know you.
I had the pleasure of working with Tom at Tellepsen. The first job we did together was the Lakewood church project. It was a very challenging project but I never saw him lose his cool. He always treated everyone with such respect and was always so well prepared. He was a good man and I am saddened to hear of his loss. My condolences to his family and friends.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Tom’s family. He was a good man and a great coworker.
Just had a feeling to look up Tom and learned of his death. I worked with him on the Athletic Club Project in Indianapolis. I came to be involved in the project as I met his girlfriend on a flight to Texas from Indianapolis. She shared with me the scope of the project and gave me Tom’s phone number. I contacted him as soon as I landed. When I returned to Indy we met and I was immediately pulled into hyper speed! Tom had a great presence! A take charge, highly charismatic guy. For some reason today, I had this nagging feeling to find him. I’m so saddened to learn of his death. I had left the industry and when the project was over we each went about our life’s. Godspeed Tom Linton!
