Lacy Joanne Johnson
Lacy Joanne Brasher Morris Johnson, of League City, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at her home in League City, Texas, at the age of 52.
She was born on August 22, 1972, in Leesville, Louisiana.
Lacy’s story was one of deep love, quiet strength, and unwavering faith. She grew up in Leesville, Louisiana, the beloved daughter of Malcolm and Shirley, and a proud cheerleader for the Leesville Wampus Cats and member of the LHS Class of 1990. She cherished her role as a big sister to her twin brothers, Logan and Kanon—often coming home from college just to be with them. Raised in the country, Lacy had an adventurous spirit, riding her four-wheeler through the backwoods with friends, hunting and fishing with her dad, and competing in the Great Mother’s Day Canoe Races. She also attended Diabetic’s Camp at the Louisiana Lions Camp each summer—an experience that brought her joy, lifelong friendships, and a deeper understanding of her own strength. She learned the value of hard work at an early age through her jobs at the Bass-N-Bow and The Vernon Bank.
Lacy had a heart for education and earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She began teaching art in her hometown and went on to become a second mom to many children throughout her life. After marrying Jeff, they built a life in League City centered on faith, family, and community. Together, they taught Sunday School and were active members of Bay Harbour United Methodist Church. Lacy became a full-time mom to their daughters, Molly and Lindsay, and poured her heart into raising them. She was an amazing Room Mom throughout their elementary and middle school years, always the first to step up, organize, and make every classroom feel like home. She never missed a game, match, or tournament, and could be heard cheering from across the court. She was also a passionate LSU fan and treasured Saturdays filled with college football and family.
Lacy served faithfully through her church community, volunteering at Happy Harbour preschool and leading UM Army service projects—building ramps, cooking meals, and organizing mission work with compassion and joy. She and Jeff shared a deep friendship and love that grew stronger each year, with summers spent fishing, traveling, and vacationing as a family—especially to the beaches she loved most. Hawaii, where they honeymooned and later returned with their girls, became a treasured place of peace and joy—just like Lacy herself. She was incredibly proud that both Lindsay and Molly are thriving at LSU, excelling academically on the Dean’s List, and growing as leaders in their sorority and their studies. They carry her legacy forward with grace, strength, and compassion—reminders every day of the incredible woman who raised them.
Lacy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Winford Morris; maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Woodrow Wilson; biological father, Jerry Brasher, and uncles, Doug Wilson, Jimmy Wilson, and Ronnie Brasher.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jeff Johnson; her daughters, Molly Johnson and Lindsay Johnson of League City, Texas; her parents, Malcolm and Shirley Morris; her twin brothers, Logan Morris (husband Jeremy) and Kanon Morris (wife Liz) all of Leesville, Louisiana; Her mother and father-in-law Jim and Diana Johnson of League City, Texas; sister-in-law Jenna Johnson Christensen (husband Matt) of Katy, Texas; sister-in-law Julie Johnson; nieces and nephews Kennon, Kelton, Connor, Caylin, Ayden, Avarie, Hunter, Audrey, Ella; her half-brother, Jason Brasher of Texas; aunts Sally Morris Rose, Kathy Morris, Lanette Wilson, Arlene Wilson Pawlak, Chris Brasher; cousins, Tammy Araiza, Lisa Wilson Grimes, Curtis Wilson, Ian Kramar, Pete Wilson, Jimbo Wilson, Joey Wilson and their families; and many extended family members and lifelong friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Sweet Friends, our hearts are sad at the passing of your lovely daughter. We love you and we are in prayer for your family.
Condolences to all. She will always be remembered as the best friend, mom, wife, daughter ever. I remember Lacy playing with new puppies with Kanon and Logan at their house, always watchful. The daffodils were so pretty through out the yard. She was the gracious hostess at my baby shower. Then Lacy and Jeff came to our place in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Love to you all. Darin & Kim Lewis*
