James “Jim” Kervin
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James “Jim” Kervin, 71, who passed away on March 29th in Friendswood, Texas. Born on September 24, 1953, in Olean, NY, Jim was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness and unwavering love for his family.
He loved all things sports. He coached all three of his kids on the basketball court and baseball/softball fields. Basketball was always his favorite. He refereed for many
years and just loved being involved in the sport for the majority of his life. You could always guarantee a great conversation about all of his favorite teams.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, David and Joyce Kervin.
He is survived by his loving children, daughter; Jamie Cox and husband Doug, son; Jimmy Kervin, son; Jason Kervin and wife Jenna. He was a proud grandfather to Caleb, Lowen, and Leo, who brought him immense joy. Jim is also survived by his sister; Kathy Higgins, brother; David Kervin and Cindy, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory, including full on wrestling matches at Christmas and getting whooped on the basketball court. Jim’s warmth, humor, and love for his family will be deeply missed. His legacy will live on, in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Jim always loved a party, so we will throw him one last good one to celebrate his life with family and friends on Sunday, April 6th, 2025 from 3-5 p.m. at Center Court Pizza in Friendswood located at 2111 W. Parkwood Ave #117, Friendswood, TX 77546.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jim’s memory to a charity of your choice.
