Edith “Edie” Lorene Crook
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Edith “Edie” Lorene Crook on February 10, 2025, at the age of 96.
Edie was born on February 11,1928 in Hooks, Texas to William and Clara Murphy.
Edie met the love of her life, her beloved husband, William Thomas Crook, and were happily married for 56 wonderful years.
Edie was known for her strong will, unwavering determination and love and support for her family, especially that of her grandchildren.
Edie worked as a switchboard operator for ADA Oil company and several other companies throughout the years. She eventually settled down in Friendswood Texas to raise her family. She had a great love of music and enjoyed dancing every chance she got.
Preceded in joining our Lord; are Edith’s mother and father William and Clara Murphy, her beloved husband Tom Crook, her many brother’s and sister’s Inez Watlington, Frank Autrey, Louis Autrey, and her cherished Martha “Madge” Martens.
She has survived in death by her children: Karen Crook, Terri Fontaine and her husband Charlie, Tom Crook and his wife Sherrill, grandchildren Shane Peirsol, Carli Fontaine, and Hunter Nice.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 10 AM with a Ceremony to follow at 11 AM at the Crowder Funeral Home located at 1645 E. Main League City TX 77573.
Serving as Pallbearers are Charles Fontaine, Shane Peirsol, Ty Thornton, Ken Camp and Mike Lauria.
Interment will follow the ceremony at Forest Park East Cemetery 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598.
