Marie “Mia” Narron

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marie “Mia” Narron.  Mia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  Mia, a resident of San Leon, Texas passed from this life, Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.   Mia was born in Grevenmacher, Luxembourg to Jean Baptiste and Catherine Ludwig on August 24, 1941.  1941 – 2024, time separated by a dash mark; not just a simple dash mark but an important symbol that represents Mia’s entire life of accomplishments and love on this earth.

Mia lived in Luxembourg until she met and married William “Bill” Narron, a United States Air Force Airman in 1965.  They met and fell in love dancing at  the Sporting   Dance Hall in Luxembourg.   Bill and Mia  danced through 59 years of marriage  and raised three children.  Undoubtedly,  they will dance when they meet again one day.

There were many transfers during Bill’s Air Force career, and  Mia made a warm and inviting home in every state they lived until settling in their final home in San Leon, Texas in 2006.  It was in Texas that she returned to her retail career with Walmart, retiring after 22 years as a Department Manager.  Mia proved herself an invaluable employee and was overjoyed when she was selected to meet Mr. Sam Walton himself!

Mia’s passions were her family, friends, crocheting, gardening and reading.   She loved reading the newspaper out loud to anyone around, whether we listened or not, she kept reading.  Mia had a great sense of humor, ready with a witty remark, and always with a twinkle in her eye.  She really could make anyone smile with her playful nature.  Mia touched the hearts of many with her kindness and generosity and loved to crochet blankets for family and friends.  She  made hundreds of baby blankets which she donated to hospitals and churches.  She was always happy to see a sweet baby wrapped in one of her blankets made with so much love.

Mia was preceded in death by her parents, brother Clem Ludwig, and sweet grandson Gabriel S. Narron.

She leaves behind to cherish a lifetime of memories and accomplishments, her devoted husband, William “Bill” Narron; daughters, Danielle Narron and Michelle Hill; son, Jeffrey Narron and wife Stephanie Narron; brothers, Paul Ludwig, Rob Ludwig, and Pierre Ludwig; grandchildren, Maximus Narron and Rhezalie Ng; as well as numerous extended family, friends and colleagues.

We invite all who cherished Mia to join us for a Memorial Service which will be held Friday, December 20, 2024, at 2:00pm in the Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, in Dickinson, Texas.

  1. Bill and family,
I am saddened to hear of Mia’s passing. I’m also grateful I was able to visit with her just last month, it was a long 47 years between visits! Which is often the case between Military Families. She was the epitome of strength and grace. Talented in many ways, but her warmth and giving nature by far her greatest strengths. May the Lord welcome her into His House.
