Ruth Laverne Oliver (94) of Dickinson, Texas, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. She was born in Center, Texas to Exa and Columbus (Lum) Schilling on January 18, 1930. Ruth was a member of Highlands Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Odis William Oliver, her son, Edward William Oliver and great grandson, Hudson Rhys Morton. Ruth is survived by two daughters: Peggy Burks (Larry) and Mary Ardoin (Keith); five grandchildren: Jennifer Sumrall (Keith), Joshua Morton (Angela), Kathleen Beaumont (Adam), Will Oliver and Stescha Jordan (Hunter) and 13 great-grandchildren: Garner Dale Sumrall, Haden Sumrall, Aiden Beaumont, Cash Beaumont, Eli Beaumont, Kensley Oliver, Audrie Morton, Alina Stuckey, Aiden Ware,  Jace Jordan , Tessa Jordan and McCoy Jordan, and honorary great grandson Stan Morton.  Also surviving her are Susan Welch (Fred)  and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will begin at 4:00pm on Friday, December 6, 2024 with a memorial service starting at 5:30pm, at James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque.
