Charles E. Nagel, Jr.
Charles E. Nagel, Jr., 94, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024 at his home in Pearland, Texas. He was born on June 15, 1930 in El Paso, Texas to Charles E. Nagel, Sr. and Carma Strange. Upon graduation from high school, he joined the United States Navy and became an aerial photographer. After spending a year in the Navy and 6 years in the reserves, Charles worked his way through college and graduated from the University of Texas El Paso in 1954. He worked most of his life, beginning at the age of 10 delivering newspapers. Upon college graduation, he went to work for Conoco Oil and spent many years in the oil and gas industry.
Charles was highly respected by everyone he met and was truly a Southern gentleman. He was a Christian and he instilled Christian values in his children. He enjoyed photography, reading, and all kinds of music. Charles was a loving husband, and devoted father and grandfather. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sharon Nagel; their daughter Stefani Heileman and husband Eric; and his son Charles E. Nagel III and wife Sheila. He is also survived by his grandchildren Luke and Abigail Heileman, and LeeAnn Sykes and husband James.
A visitation is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday November 16th, 2024 at
Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 E. Broadway St., Pearland, TX 77581, with a funeral
service to begin at 12:30 p.m. There will be a burial service to follow at South Park
Cemetery, 1310 North Main Street, Pearland, TX 77581.
